Thanks Cheryl! I'm still trying to get the hang of lighting and shaders; I've watched quite a few tutorials and still can't seem to get my renders to light properly.

Thank you sir! I'm still trying to get the hang of this 3D stuff! Hopefully I will have a 3D version of Raina pretty soon!

It's always been my experience, that the two things you need to make 3D renderings look good (or as to say "the way you intended them too") is to do post work in an image editor like PS or CLIP, and learn how to use the lights in the program you are using (e.g. DAZ, Maya, lightwave) always add your own lighting. Using the default ambient light always makes stuff look weird. Focus on single directional for a few hours, then add a secondary. I promise you, it will make a world of difference.
But in the end, you're still going to need to do touch up work in an image editor later. Unless you become a 3D master of course.
question: was this from scratch or are they predesigned items?

Dude...sorry for taking forever to respond! I do have Clip for postwork, and I'm still having a time getting the hang of how to use lights and shaders properly, even after watching several tutorials.
And these were predesigned items...I don't even know where to begin with creating your own textures!!!

Whenever rendering, I always have to do touch ups here and there in photoshop. This looks pretty good for a new Daz user though! Just remember, you will ALWAYS have to do post work to get your renders exactly the way you want.

Do you have any recommendations on tutorials on post work? And I use Clip Studio Pro, not PS as my photo editing program... will that work?

One more thing. If you haven't checked out this guy's stuff already stuartjohnellis.deviantart.com… ask him some questions. His work is crazy, detailed, and super clean! I bow down to him.

Honestly, it really helps if you have traditional art skills, which you definitely have. I just freestyle it man. Use different brushes and the polygon selection tool a lot. I like to think of it as drawing and painting on top of the rendered image. Also, control the light/darkness and sharpness levels. I've used PS exclusively for years, so unfortunately I'm not familiar with anything else.
Many of my renders have clipping, poke-through, etc. especially when doing wrestling poses. And when you morph your character to certain dimensions, they tend to suffer from that even more in different poses. Just get it the best you can in Daz, then clean up after. Hopefully this points you in the right direction. I suck at explaining things, I just mess around until I get what I want lol

Heh heh...thanks! Hopefully I will be able to make her even hotter once I learn how to use Daz Studio better!
