Description It is natural for man to indulge in the illusions of hope. We are apt to shut our eyes against a painful truth, and listen to the song of that siren till she transforms us into beasts... For my part, whatever anguish of spirit it may cost, I am willing to know the whole truth, to know the worst, and to provide for it.

Il sole splende sempre sopra le nuvole.

This has genuine coolness all over it As someone else said, I get a really Final Fantasy vibe from this. Perhaps most like the character Noctis (I think there's even a picture of him in this same pose). Loving the popped collar on the leather jacket too. Frames the portrait nicely

What then, if we do not believe in hope nor fear? Does it simply mean we are not human? Or that we hide it well?

Eh it's hit or miss. As far as the style goes. It gets in my eyes a lot and it itches my face so thats a no-go. But there are few themes that it fits. For example a Square Enix type image. Or anime.

I've been called numerous things for each individual photograph I have. It usually relates to the scene and the theme. Some recurring ones are Dorian Grey, Kevin Bacon, Edward Cullen, Jared Leto. But I prefer Kevin Bacon Awesome actor.

Just a bit of AXE Gel and some Hair spray. It's pulled back all the time that people freak out when I go emo at times.

you actually look a bit younger here... not sure if it's your hair or what but there's something about it. your hair frames your face /perfectly/ in this shot, it really does. you have this expression that's a bit sad but.. (for lack of better example) it's very cloud-like. seen a lot of sorrow but knows it's coming and keeps powering through. this is gorgeous will, one of your best.

MRBee30 In reply to TheFrozenDawn [2012-03-26 04:17:28 +0000 UTC]

Throw a bit of gel and hairspray on it. Pull it fowared and watch as people freak out. Shaving helps bring out the 21 years look I suppose.

But thank you never the less. And when I say 'Cloud" I assume your speaking of Final Fantasy?

Very interesting thought in your description. I don't quite understand the last part about 'providing for it', but I love the part about some people transforming into beasts.

This is something we all have to guard against to some extent. And it's equally important to guard against the desire to manipulate other people to the extent we we effectively would transform them into beasts if they were to cave to our every whim.

Albert Camus' book "The Plague" comes to mind because he warns us to guard against breathing the social plague of intolerance, dogma, and other manipulative enticements.

Recently I've been worried that our politics is starting to turn us into participants of a beastly democracy, where we strive to pass so many mandates (whether religious values on the right, or health care or nanny illusions on the left) that we become like moral dictators. We forget that people have minds and can choose their own morals with their own reasons. We can use many creative methods of getting along with others with government permission or government mandates. And allowing people to be creative, puts makes the government less mechanical and more tolerant.

Keep up the great work!

(I wrote too quickly. Edited version.)

That's a very interesting thought in your description. I don't understand the last part about 'providing for it', but I love the description of some people transforming into beasts.

We all have to guard against becoming beastly to some extent. And it's equally important to guard against manipulating other people, transforming them into beasts (or effectively behaving as if we would transform others into beasts) if they were to cave to our every whim.

Albert Camus' book "The Plague" comes to mind. He warns us to guard against breathing the social plague of intolerance, dogma, and other manipulative enticements into other people's faces.

Recently I've been worried that progressive politics is turning us into participants of a beastly democracy, where we strive to pass along so many mandates (whether religious values on the right, or health care or nanny illusions on the left) to other people that we become like moral dictators.

We forget that people have creative minds and can choose their own morals. We can use creative methods of getting along with others. We don't need government permission or invasive government mandates. They tend to de-humanize us. Allowing people to be creative, makes the government less mechanical, and more tolerant.

If I tell someone at a family party that I don't want my picture taken, they tend to gripe and encourage me, but they eventually respect my decision. The government is so mechanical that the sort of mandates it is passing appear to make us intolerant, beastly, mechanical, and monstrous when we wouldn't be those ways on our own.

Keep up the great work!

It itches my face when it's pulled fowared. But with a good bit of axe gel and hairspray it can change the outcome of a simple portrait.
