wow it looks very ominous.
like a moment of peace before the ensuing chaos.
and it also gives a narrative feel...
i really like whole photograph but dislike the lighting on the persons body. its almost like it was done seperately in an uncontrolled flash. great otherwise.

nicely composed you have that spot on I think. Like the use of a bit of fill in flash, if that is what it is, on the body subject, nice one.

Interesting that you saw the flash
It wasn't to obvious was it?

The horizon line is tilted and I feel he is going to slide off the bench. There is still enough angle happining if you sraighten it.Just my oppinion. This image is absolutely incredible wonderful light and toning.A great mood.

mrdingo In reply to photocrafter [2005-11-28 20:55:50 +0000 UTC]

Truetrue
My problem with the whole trip was that I wasn't used to the distortion effect of my then recently purchased 10-22mm lens. The fact that I did not have a computer, made it impossible to see through the pictures before after returning back to Norway. Very difficult to straighten it up again.

I appreciate that you shared your thoughts and I can't thank you enough for that. It's sincerely appreciated

Acually all you need to do is a small bit of a crop. I loooove the tilt!!!!

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

mrdingo In reply to Aether-Merula [2005-11-04 21:55:16 +0000 UTC]

One shot. Used the builtin flash as fill-in light for the the subject. This was so I could avoid overexposure on the sky and maintain the detail there.
Had to darken the sky in ps however, but it was not much.

Good shot!
This is very resting, and sky magnificent!
Mmm, I think being stripped to the waist isn't that attractive.
Maybe two lovers would have been more powerful, but more classical.
Shame that the horizon is leaning.

See ya! ++

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

mrdingo In reply to yardieLion [2005-11-28 21:01:45 +0000 UTC]

Hehe I didn't have two lovers at hand at the time. But if I find some they won't escape my camera
I'll try to avoid the horizon problem. It's far easier to do this error with a wide-angle lens, and I didn't have a computer when in Spain, so I wasn't aware of it before after returning from the trip. Precise one must be when using these kinds of lenses.
Thank you.

Yeah... but this was toned, because the colours turned out strange.

Yeah the tones are what makes this so excellent. Nice perspective, great work. I dont know anything to critique.
