does this 7600 build work with RC license keys?

I've still got the original RC build and wouldn't mine updating it

RC/BETA keys won't work with RTM builds, only retail keys will

It's not done 'til Service Pack 1! I do love Windows 7 though... borrowed a brand new Dell Latitude D430, nippy little thing, from work a couple of weeks ago, built it with Win7 RC1 x64 and essential apps in a day, then took it on a two week diving holiday to Grenada. It's about half the weight, 150% of the battery life and half the size of my own lappy (Inspiron 1520) and it was a DREAM. I love 7, but I still haven't got round to putting Vista on my desktop yet... in a few weeks (once I get a debit card) I'll take advantage of an offer that Amazon are running and buy Vista HP SP1 retail for £136 and get 7 HP retail on October 22nd free . Slap on Office 2k7 Enterprise (been using work vol license for 3 years) for £35 from [link] , Visio for £45 and we're set!

I have a VLK of Enterprise office 2007 and access to an NHS discount purchase for £8.50

But as fas as Win7 goes, it needs no SP1 really! just some very minor bugs I have noticed but everything is perfect otherwise, games are a few fps better, GTA4 runs better (!) and the OS itself is snappier than vista and Vista was snappy on my spec to begin with

What bugs have you noticed? On the RC I had two - explorer seems to freeze for a few minutes sometimes when loading the start menu, and whenever I shut down/reboot, the "the following programs are preventing shut down, do you want to end them forcibly" screen appears for about two seconds with no programs listed.

To allow the choice screen you need to extract the ISO and delete ei.cfg as default choice is set automatically for the Ultimate ISO.

The issues I found were just minor, the new RDP windows opening in window mode and not full screen mode resulted in size reset if you move the window around if its resolution is only one or two steps smaller than the client's native resolution The way windows borders snap to the sides in 7's new layout).

Things like that, hard to explain stuff but not majorly problematic

So how does this work? What have you actually installed? I'd quite like to do this myself.

You can DL the RC which will expire in march next year or purchase a preorder to get your hands on it in oct, I'm using a leaked RTM release so just need to activate when my copy arrives in the post

The RC is Ultimate, I have no idea which edition the leaked RTM is (or even if mrk's one is the same one i heard about, see [link] and [link] ).

The RTM build (7600) was leaked to the torrent sites a couple of days ago... it went RTM on 23rd I think... retail release is October 22nd.

I could do research.. or I could ask you. It it just the Professional Edition? I don't like how the whole multiple edition thing. It's like £110 extra for XP Mode and Backup facilites. Incredibly frustrating.
