MrOAH — Insanlum's Design - For Bradandez

Description This is a character that I made for a game that my good friend ~Bradandez wants to make. I call him Insanlum and he is suppose to be A level/boss for this hidden/dark/mysterious/extra world that He might make.

Most of this is just a draft and you can change him however you like, your style or whichever.

The level is called "Insanlum's Asylum"

The top is just my 1st drawing of him along with the few types of objects he'll try to use to eliminate Elem or whichever character is entering this stage. It also says "Former Explosives Expert" and him saying "I'm going crazy ov-ah he-ah"(Which I put only because I was waiting for someone for a long time and I was growing very bored after drawing Insanlum)

The middle page is just some of his "moves" that he might or might not (depending if Bradandez accepts this guy and allows these moves) use. He jumps around a lot and throws his weight around. He somehow manages to throw dynamite around from his suit, he seems to spit out rolling bombs and also plants mines by slamming his head onto the ground. Another move he might use(when he is weaker) is shaking his body from time to time to have these needles shoot out from his body to get Elem or any other players from getting close to him.

Some Hazards in the Boss area itself become active the weaker Insanlum is. Such as the spinney floors turn on and further down the battle they will get a little faster making it Harder for Elem to go up them to attack Insalum if he jumps up. And after they reach their maximum speed they send a shock pulse to each other, shocking who ever is on one, even Insanlum but he suffers no Damage. just a small stun.

Also these cannons that are similar to some Elem might encounter in the stage to fight this man will appear. They will drop rolling glass bombs like the ones that Insanlum spits out that will go boom after a few seconds. Depending on how weak Insanlum is is how many cannons will fly around with a maximum of five shooting out every couple of seconds.

When Elem gets Insanlum weak enough, he'll reveal a more stronger form to sort of match up the magic creatures and bosses that Elems world has. Not only does he grow these large arms out but he gets a generous increase of his life making the battle last longer. Shadow Insanlum jumps around a lot like his stomp attack when Elem 1st encounters him but this time he is able to jump further and faster and when he lands one of his arms will try to reach out and give damage to Elem and not only that, but dark needles will shoot out from both Insanlum's left and right side but very slowly to temporarily act as a hazard for Elem until they reach walls and simply poof away.

The bottom paper is a rough draft of this purposely LONG level where traps are meant to occur in every step. But luckily there are lots of checkpoints to restart from if you have the lives to constantly die from

I won't explain what is it says and how most of it works until I get(or IF) OK with the level design. I know it looks hard to make out from but hopefully the layout is kind of understandable ...

If you read up to this point I thank you for doing so and I'll be (somewhat) happy to answer any question about Insanlum and his attack and etc. |D

Ok, first, I want to say you did a really good job on designing both the character and the level. Also this sort of reminds of Ripper Roo from the Crash Bandicoot series. I really do like his attacks in which he has to use explosions and the needles shooting in every direction when he shakes will be such a great attack. Which brings me to say, that since it is your character, I will allow whatever move you want, as long it doesn't deal with technical difficulties. Now the level seems pretty difficult including the many hazards in this asylum. The really hard part seems in the middle where the paths sort of split up and down. Btw, are you going to desig enemies as well, since I only saw the hazards. So to wrap things up, Insanlum is a really great and crazy character I will enjoy to put in ELEM.

Thanks, I did play the original Crash not so long ago so I can see how he sort of shows as a reminder to Ripper Roo |D

I hope that none of his moves will be a problem as far technical code and such goes. o3o Especially with the bombs moving down the spinning floors and the mines trying to split themselves as when they hit the bottom floor.

The asylum is MEANT to be difficult. I figured it'd be one of the very last(not the last) levels in the hidden world where it tests your patience and your endurance. That little area where the paths split up and down, the way you get across that is by a moving floating plat form that goes through it from the bottom up. It's another part of the level in which you have to stay in one place as the level moves for you. When the platform start going through the diagonal slopes, you have to try to avoid bombs being shot up to the platform and rolling towards you and also a few that come upwards doing the same. That part of the level (and the part where you have to cross the cannon fields) just involves a lot of dodging as "practice" for when you Elem faces Insanlum.

I will be designing some enemies, plus you can add some from previous levels if ya like. Cause I figured that some of the enemies warp in to the level like Elem does to try to take down Elem.

You can adjust Insanlum as much as you like, I myself was gonna try to fix him up a bit and clean him up a little to make it look a bit more professional.

You're welcome! I'm a big fan of Crash Bandicoot (favorite game has to be Twinsanity, btw).

Though, these moves shouldn't be a problem, if I get a good programming program. Also, I really liked how the mines will fall from the ceiling.

I will try to make the level have much resemblance to your invisionment. Since it is your idea after all. Though the only thing that maybe change will be the playable character on the level.

The character I won't change at all, since I do have the policy I don't change what I didn't create.

Overall, the whole world that this level will be another game from ELEM, considerite a mid sequel, maybe ELEM 1.5.

Well the mines won't fall from the ceiling, they will be moved off by the floors when they become activated by which at some point the entire floor will be covered with them.

As for the level I will try to create how the level might look like by drawing a more detailed version on Photoshop with hopefully a decent description of how each part of that level works(almost like how a game book would).

Well I'll make some small changes just for the heck of it. As for the playable character, I can understand if you won't choose Elem, heck, I don't even know what types of moves Elem or Jean could do or anyone else you might have.

I guess if you want to wait that let it wait. I just figured that this level would be "near the end of the gmae" level.

Well before TAOK I once used want to create games. I CAN put a lot of thought into villains... and Heroes too but not I prefer villains more -w-
