It could be a kind of fly which imitates bees' colors (Syrphidae). I wouldn't be as brave as you and stay close to the beast, though I love the windy green vagueness in the background (mhh, I don't know if that's correct in english, but you get the idea). Macrophotography is an enygma to me, how does it work ? Is there some ideal distance between the subject and the camera ?

Well first of all thanks for the kind words, it means a lot And you know this just might be for me though; I find that the correct distance is difficult to determine. Itβs extremely illusive, sometimes you get it, sometimes you donβt and it all depends on the type Camera I suppose. This photo was actually one of my first attempts at photography in general, and the camera used that day has been henceforth retired.

that little fellow stayed there for a whole 3-5 minutes (it felt longer) in order for me to take the photo. So yeah, I was really lucky that day
