before I looked at what the book in Watson's hands actually read, I was 100% convinced it was going to be a wedding invitation. The fact that I made out "Sherlock Holmes&Dr John Watson" before "the casebook of" really didn't help things XDD
You know I don't ship stuff, but, like... I'm not blind. When two people look married, I can tell. These two people look married as hell to me .D .D .D (seriously, those identical roses on their lapels??? COME ON)
(these are some incredibly drawn roses, btw. They look almost like stained glass. Love the subtle shading that separates the petals so distinctly.)
The fact that they're both carrying the tools of their respective trades makes this composition even more symbolic, art nouveau, and #married . And then, of course, there's The Frame. You know what, Hmelson, go to hell with this frame. My art critic skills are not good enough to talk about how great it is. I quit. I quit.
I spy some Carpi-esque spheres there .D and that criss-cross pattern looks like lacing on a dress or on a pair of Victorian boots... and it's incredibly, viscerally satisfying to look at. Also, this colour scheme that echoes the colour of the walls and the rose bouquet!!!
No, you know, this NEEDS to be a wedding invitation. If H&W were getting married, they'd order something like this to be printed with "you're hereby invited to attend..." on the other side.
this whole drawing just fills my heart with aesthetic satisfaction of the highest order. It's kind of like eating a piece of delicious cake, but emotionally.

oh...my...gosh... So beautiful! This is fantastic! I could stare at it for hours!
Unfortunately, I don't have time so will instead write a nice comment!
This, my dear, is absolutely fantastically amazing! Holmes eyes! Bravo! Holmes entire stance, the pale, beautiful, sharp, Brettishness of his features! his lovely top hat! (that is really quite fantastic!) and his suit! wonderful shading, and I love his pants! not to mention that wondrous rose in his lapell (erm, I think that's what it's called! ) The background is marvelous! the patterns, the lovely wood panels, and the gorgeous white vase and roses! Now onto Watson! he, oh dear, he is perfect! that dandy little tilt of the head, and his posture too! I adore it! his clothes are fantastic, and I love his vest! The rose, of course, is wonderful! his eyes are really what get me! I just love them! and his mustache too! that little touch of having him hold out the notebook like that is great too! I love his handwriting, too, but I had to hold the laptop upside-down to read it!
well, dear, all in all I would say this is another smashing success! BRAVO! and, may I add, ENCORE!

... Aww. *purrs* Aww. *purrs* AAAWWWWWW. *PUUURRS*Β
THANKYOUSOVERYMUCHFORTHISHUGECOMMENT, I am beaming with joy, a broaad smile on my face and I surely would be as red as a beetroot if I could blush, but I can't so instead I'm out-grinning every Cheshire Cat.
Wow, I am really quite overwhelmed by your marvellously kind words, this has to be the longest, most elaborated and one of the very sweetest reviews I ever had the pleasure to read under my works. THANK you again for that!! Β
I am so happy that you like all these things and details and that everybody thinks Brett is brettish enough (apparently mostly so the eyes) and likes the top hats and and and... *sniffles* well, I am glad. Excellent push for my almost nonexistant artistic complacence. Oh and I am especially happy you remarked that 'dandy' tilt of Watson's head, wonderful to know it shows, this is exactly what I was going for, I always have the impression Watson is a tiny little bit dandy under his correct-victorian-stiffness. xDD Um, by the way, would you recognise young Edward Hardwicke in him if I hadn't written it in the description....? I am a bit unsure whether I really succeded to show Ted...
Oh, the handwriting, thanks for the comliment , hehe, erm, sorry for the inconvenience, it really would have been smarter to write the text in the right direction.. Β
Uh, "encore", I am honoured, deeply so, dearest! Have an army of hugs!! It always makes me ridiculously glad when I see that I can bring joy to others by the things that I love to do.
I have so many ideas, but there are also so many other things to get done...

OOOOhhh, "Draw Holmes and Watson lookin' dashing". Β You really did it! They look very VERY dashing and I absolutely love the way you made clothes, roses (you always rock at drawing flowers!), wall, frames, Holmes' eyes (soh pretty. Holy sack, how they're pretty*_*).... well, everything. xD And I like that text on Watson's notebook...he has beautiful hand-writing. X)
