I don't normally do this, but for a while, some folks wanted to see some raw (in progresses) sketches of my finished pieces.

So, here is one of "MLP: The Dreams Beneath Us" Princess Luna and Queen Chrysalis were added later to show they had some impact and relevance to the fan story I came up with. If you want to see the finished piece follow this link:

----( My Little Pony: The Dreams Beneath Us)----

The idea was to have a tug of war on Prince Crucible's Will between the two sisters. Chrysalis her brother to keep his promise of conquering Equestria, while Luna insists on him staying calm and to redeem himself to return to the surface world so they could be a family again. In his Dreams Luna guides and comforts him; while awake, Chrysalis attempts to manipulate him and hopes to sabotage his new students' ascension (their transformation into powerful Alicorns to rule over Tartarus in Crucible's stead) to break his will and to push him over the edge to complete the original plan:

"Defeat Celestia, thereby preventing her from creating ""weak"" Alicorns through coddling and to make sure she lives long enough to help guide the next generation, once they're ready to ascend into Alicorns to continue the balance between Chaos and Order in the Universe."

During the original coup, Crucible was to reshape the surface of Equestria, confine Celestia to keep her alive and safe and to allow Chrysalis to rule in her stead in order to provide challenges for the ponies to overcome and to ultimately become strong, independent Alicorns, just as Crucible, Celestia, Sombra, Luna and Chrysalis did before them. This "Cycle of Overcoming Suffering" was the term used by Crucible when he wished to have an "Earth-Like" Equestria. No Magic, no "Perfect Utopia", no interference from an outside power what-so-ever.

Equestria was to become a harsh and unfair world full of challenges and hardship to overcome, a proving ground. However, Chrysalis' ultimate goal is to wait until her brother's battle is over with Celestia and then to encapsulate him (again) along with Celestia (once he's weak enough) in Tartarus; like the spoiled, cruel child who demands unlimited affection, she just wants to rule over everything with an iron hoof.

These five you see in both of these pictures, are to represent the "Elements of Resolve".

Felicitous aka "Bootleg":  Luck

These five, led by Betaflash must overcome the challenges of Tartarus to ascend not just beyond the rocky ceiling they all live under, but beyond the sky itself. However, a dark secret looms below even Tartarus itself, the very sin Crucible must repent for that threatens the existence of Equestria itself and these five will help him do it anyway they can.
