I love the lightning effect you added. It almost makes his crown look like a halo, talk about irony.

Yep but they wouldn't let him into Hell either because they would be afraid he'd take over.

Nice! I was just playing this today and was realizing that, with the dark skin and red hair, he looks kind of like a Japanese deity, maybe Fujin or something: [link]

Ah I bet your completely right, those statues could easily be inspired by Ganondorf or the other way around. Which since its from a Japanese company I bet thats the truth

Yeah, it makes sense ... a lot of times I feel like I'm missing bunches of these references in Japanese games :3

Oh I know what you mean. I wonder if they see it like, ehh, not that creative. When were all oooOOh thats a cool tie in. Since its not our culture.

hmm

Right, right, exactly! Like, stuff that is so unexpected for a Western audience is just sort of cliche

too bad we dont have any culture to put in our games..

Awww, I totally disagree! [link]

Heh heh, but in all seriousness, part of that argument stems from a self-effacing attitude ... it's a paradox within our aggressive culture. Another part of the issue is that the US is so big, it contains several major regional subcultures ... in Europe, the same area has many many countries where cultures are more clearly-defined by language and political border. Mehhh, I'm ranting. Anways :3

haha thats pretty great!

And yeah, our country is toooo big. And its crazy the differences going from the south, north east, midwest, west coast. etc. They are like separate countries...

But I wish we had a great mythological past like japan, or good old old folklore like europe that we could build games off of. Or be inspired by. (I know there is American folklore, but its very young comparatively)

Sigh, I was born in the wrong place

I bet your right, if I left I'd probably appreciate what we've got a lot more. But you know, grass is always greener

Heh heh, you're talking to the wrong audience ... I could disagree with you about these things all day (but, I won't)! I do know what you mean, of course, about saying you're missing roots ... I'd say if you live outside of the US for a length of time you'll start to feel the culture in a more significant way. But still, we're not even a 250-year-old country ... that's pretty significant compared to ... everywhere else!
