（QMQ）I always wonder why Loki wants to destroy Jotunheim in the film Thor , maybe he wants to prove that he can do everthing for his father ,but I think that he may also do it to deny his identity , the prince of the Frost Giants ,even knowing that whatever he does, the blood of the Frost Giants will runs in his veins forever.Related content

It's definitely about destroying his own identity as a Frost giant. And thereby becoming fully as Guardian and proving his worthiness to his would-be father. This picture captured that's very well

Beautiful drawing....so incredibly sad and beautiful. And about what u wrote underneath the picture: Yeah Loki did kill them because of shame but the main reason was to become a hero of Asgard, all Asgardians know that Thor made a war with them, then killing them all would just prevent another war Hurray for Loki! The one who stopped the war and is now worthier of the throne! But tbh If I was Loki I would be strategic enough to Come down to Jotunheim and show his biological father that I am still alive. Maybe then he would become the heir of Laufey, soon becoming the king of Jotunheim. He should be proud of his son by that time, because no matter of his non frost giant size he is still just as strong as Thor (Who could alone kill half of Laufeys army). Thor is more powerfull than Loki just because of his hammer Mjolnir. Now take that away and who will win in a battle without weapons? Lol Loki will. Besides I am still surprised how Odin didn't see the intelligence in Loki from the beginning. I mean Thor is full of pride and does the stuff before thinking about it, when Loki could talk away the enemy of Asgard due to his intelligence and silver tongue. Jeez are all of the true Asgardians that dumb? XD Cuz Loki seems to be the only one with a brain.

Yeah, I totally agree with your explanation, I think it's obvious. He always wanted to be Thor's equal and after habing known such an awful truth he decided to such reckless act and a bold attempt to deny everything but his will and might in order to prove he's the worthy son. And this is the one thing that I really hated Marvel for: in fact Loki killed his own father for Odin - and yet nobody really cared -_- After this "I could have done it, father!" Odin could have said at least "I know" or such - and Loki wouldn't have left them. It was one of the most dramatic moments in whole Marvel universe ever.

I consider it both a "doing what Odin could not" moment in the destruction of the Frost Giants and also as a moment of self denial- he is destroying a part of himself. I interpret him as a character with a good lot of self loathing hiding behind that cocky mask.

Great job. I think it was because he wanted to be an Asgardian, not a frost giant. And also perhaps because he was ashamed, and didn't anyone but his family to ever know.
