GameFreak made a huge mistake with the demo. These final evos are legit. When people started datamining the demo, it turns out that GameFreak left in a bunch of sprites for most of the Pokedex for S/M including the Ultra Beats, Marshadow, and the final evos for the starters.

The final evolution sprites for the starters were found in the demo's data. So the leaks are pretty much confirmed at this point. I have the sprites I can upload them. One of the people who helped with the datamine posted a zip folder with all the sprites.

The leak mentioned Grass/Flying, Fire/Dark (not fighting!) and Water/Fairy. The Ground part came from digging through image files on the official PokΓ©mon site; there were type icons for Grass, Flying, Ground, Fire, Water and Fighting, in that respective order with numbers 001 through 006 attached to them. People speculated that the Flying and Ground belonged to Rowlett, because it came after the grass typing, but I'm not sure how reliable that theory is..
