Kinda ironic - I have fairy wings tattoo'd on my back as it stands, and ages ago, I came across this picture ... Like *AGES* and never knew who it was by.
I'd been wanting to get mine covered up as my old tattoo artist completely ruined my design and the only other wings I could find that would fit perfectly for the cover-up were these. Used to be such a tiny little image I almost had to redraw them to clean it up.
I've since dropped the idea of getting it done - Mainly because the first set of wings hurt like a mofo! Not exactly running to the tattoo shop to go through that pain again lol. The other part of it is, I do tattoos myself now.
I will say this, after going to many, many tattoo artists with drawings I've liked (and yes, I have gotten some done without permission from the original artist as they were unknown until *after* the fact) most tattoo artists will tattoo whatever someone brings them - It's all just money to them, they don't care if it's copy write material or not. It's just a really sad, unfortunate truth 
I've come to the conclusion, if I don't want my art stolen, tattoo'd, etc ... I just don't post it - Anywhere! I drew a wonderful dream catcher piece I plan on getting, I refuse to share it publicly as I worry someone will steal it - Then my "one of a kind" tattoo, isn't so "one of a kind" and I may even be accused of stealing my *own* work!
The internet kinda ruined a lot for Artists, but at the same time, opened a lot of doors - It's a blessing and a curse.Β

I would like to get wings tattooed around my wrist like a bracelet. I've wanted the tatt for over 5 years but am yet to go out and find the perfect tattooist, mainly because I have a specific idea in mind. I need it to be feminine and yet still have edge - as I dress both alternative and pretty depending on the day and my mood. It seems you don't currently take requests or commissions but would I be able to show this design to a tattooist, should I eventually find one I like? It would give them somewhat of an idea of what I'd like - though I would want the addition of other features and probably less detail in the feathers so your design would be more inspiration than copied. Is this okay?

I would love this for a tat. I just lost my Daddy, Grandma, Best Friend, Great Aunt that I adored, Former Boyfriend (at the time), and 3 friends. The last 4 years have sucked so very badly...
Plus a little over 3 years ago I lost 95% of my life. I am disabled. Had a baby and when she turned 6 weeks old (on the day) I fell and have had 5 back surgeries that have taken my independence, left me disabled, and rendered me a shut in. I am 33...
