Alright, I want to start by saying that you got the focus and f-stop spot on for this! It looks like you took the shot with a telephoto lens using a tripod on an overcast day, which is a good thing. Exposure is hard to judge because of how images display differently from computer monitor to computer monitor.  My monitor shows it to be perhaps a smidgeon dark. When that happens in a picture that tends to be an easy fix with the length of time you expose your picture in a darkroom or adjustment with photoshop.  I really love how the petals in the foreground suggest the freshness of spring, while you can see the petals in the background withering around the edge. To me, this suggests a beautiful evanescence.  I like how the raindrops add dimension to the picture with light and shadow, while sometimes creating slight displacement of the position of the veins on the flower petal.

I know that many will balk at a long title, perhaps something shorter? On a plant, it is not the veins that absorb nutrients but the cells. Nutrients are absorbed by osmosis in the sense that they vibrate on the right frequency to pass through the cellular wall of the plant's cells. While plants require minerals, light and water...it is part of the natural life cycle of the plant that the flower withers once fertilization takes place.  This allows the seed to reach the soil in order to produce new plants. Decay makes the way for rebirth.

Thank you very much for your kind words and feedback.
I know the title is a mouth full and when analyzed you know nature works in a different way, but we have to feed the poet in us as well
