Description Well well well! A sculpt! I told you that Im gonna get back into my personal works! It's good to be back

This sculpt was inspired by one of the most humble artist I know, PeterdeSeve . I work with him on a daily bases and sculpting from his designs is so energizing!

This piece will be donated to Beautiful Grim , which is an art fundraiser to help a friend who had to go through chemotherapy and a bilateral mastectomy for fighting breast cancer. There will be an event either in LA or New York for the auction. For more information or questions you may have, read more here: [link]

I'll see if I can post the link to the drawing that inspired me to sculpt this. It's in Peter's sketch book, if you have that handy...if not, you can always support him by buying it!

Anyways, I worked on this off and on for a few weeks

Turn around still to come so stay tuned!

Size: 7inches

Perfect!
Posture, expression, clothing, contrasting forms, title, the balance, mmm ... yummy.

You're an inspiration.
In fact, you're so good, it's paralysing. I have to fight that influence

Nice dichotomy. The man and dog are so different yet both have loud attitudes; one with his corpulent body and the other with his overgrown ego!

Haha this is so funny. I totally digg the character and the whole setting, also LOVE the expression on guys face, oh and details - like his ripped shirt and those tiny folds. I think it really adds to the character. So yeah...GREAT STUFF!!

Hey, this looks wonderful! How did you manage the hair on the head and mustache? I've attempted hair in the past, and it's always gotten away from me!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

MumboJumbo In reply to Nadesican [2010-03-06 15:09:23 +0000 UTC]

Hey there! I think I just started with the bottom layer of the hair, stroking it with a tool, then the next layer, so the hair looks like it's riding on top of the bottom layer. Kind of like shingles for a roof. Just small strokes downward with a tool. HOpe that helps, it's always difficult to explain techniques. Maybe I'll try to do video tutorials of my knowledge of hair/fur. I'm not the best at textures, it's pretty hard to keep consistency in clay Keep practicing, it's all about rhythm Best of luck!~

Well done, Alena. They are an interesting couple, well suited to the project. The man may be huge, but he seems a sweet and simply guy, whom his dog (a real cuddle puppy) is desperately trying to protect from strangers.

My pleasure! I'm afraid that my projects are not going so well at the moment. I'm having to take a break and do other types of work to keep me going. But...that is the nature of the beast, as they say. There'll more projects along but it might take a little while. I look forward to seeing more of your work tho!
