i'm an aficionado of gory works and subtle arts, surreal. and i think this work of your is just like you say"a bit messy.i dont think i really like the background itself, maybe if you made the color plain but the same context was still there...i dont know. But for me, its very hard to handle oil pastels and if i'll compare it with my works on pastel..your work here is more/way beyond better than what i can do and considering the fact that you havent used it for 6 yrs. But i like the shining effect on his face and how you rendered his face. if you wanted me to give opinion on your other works just drop by my site and let me inform i'm kinda lazy in browsing other people works. i choose people who i wanted their works so much.SAYONARA!CIAO!

Wow, yeah! Reallllly different texture for the whole thing! Perhaps you should photoshop the colors to make them come out richer? If that is, the piece isn't exactly like that. It seems too gray perhaps???

This kind of reminds me of a Stephen King novel called The Dark Half. There was a part were Thad Beaumont was taken to an ER to have a tumor removed and it turned out to be the eyeball and teeth of his unborn twin brother, growing in his brain. That would be George Stark, in the lower right.

very messy indeed, but awesome results make it worth it! I like how soft everything is... it really gives it a different feeling from a lot of your other work. Good golly, you are a master of all natural medias aren't you?

Pastels? Those are pastels? What kind of pastels?

It looks... morbid. In a rather hauntingly good way, I suppose.

I like it nonetheless.

oh, wow. I love how everything blends together, like a dream sequence. Pastels show off the haziness of dreams, eh? Good choice, good choice. The third eye embedded in his cheek is very effective. Wonderful jobb. Favsss.
