I was working on some Enterprise sets and -- for reasons too complex and boring to go into here -- I ended up re-creating this "aquarium" set from the TAS episode "The Ambergris Element." I know that Spock and Kirk didn't actually get fishtails in that episode, but.. I had the model so I figured, why not?Credits:

Dang transporter accidents...they make adults into kids (TNG), people into pudding (TMP), etc. Why not turn them into merpeople or even forgo the surgery and gives free unwanted sex changes?
I like the idea you went with, it has potential to become something bigger.
