You are simply awesome! I have a two-inch wide *ahem* name on my lower back I need to cover. I really want a tribal crow or raven - nothing too big. Just enough to cover a 3/4 inch X 2 inch name inked in black.

Ok, if it isn't asking too much could I possibly see a picture of the name, that way I can effectively place tribal in order to cover it without the tribal linking together or turning into an ink blob.

It is really no problem. I would rather design tattoos and know they will be used or at least appreciated. I am especially interested in this project because it is a raven/ crow. I have already designed one, but it didn't turn out as well as I had hoped. This will give me a chance to get back on the horse and design a better one. The fact that it is for someone will motivate me to do a better job.

I have one design almost completed except for the part that will cover the actual tattoo. I am hoping that I can somehow design it so that it isn't totally solid, but if that is all that can be done then, I guess I will have no choice. I'll see what I can do once I see what I am dealing with. On to the next design.

I posted the first sketch about a minuite ago. I personally think there is still a lot to build into it. The tail and eyes don't seem right to me. I left the body solid because that would be what covers the name. I hope to do something to the body as well. I plan on making a second one where the wingspan covers the name so the raven is facing up.

I saw it and it's great graphically...I do think a little more solid tail & wings might be better. I'll get you that photo as soon as I can so you'll know what you're working with.

That would be great. I have a feeling the second one is going to turn out way better and will be more visually appealing. I have a rough idea of what it is going to look like but I am going to wait to start drawing it until I actually see what I am dealing with. (I am going to try to make some more solid looking feathers for the wings, and i am going to completely redo the tail feathers... I don't want them to look so solid, but at the same time I don't want them to be so opaque that they don't match the design. I think a tail like the one in my pheonix might do the trick. If you have any ideas or any desires for the design please tell me and I would be more than willing to comply.

It is no problem, I honestly didn't expect you to be this attentive to it... I only am because I am on vacation and this is what I do to relax/ have fun, well this and hockey/lacrosse, but we haven't started up our beer league yet (mainly cause all my friends want a break between school and sports).

Yeah, I do "inkings" which are basically these tattoos done in ballpoint pen on skin. If you ever were to consider getting a tattoo permanently inked you should definitely do that first. You will notice people will look at you a little differently. If you can handle the looks and are sure you will love having it on you for the rest of time, then go for it (yes, I am a responsible tattoo designer).
