I can remember so many road trips with an abrupt inclusion of foreboding weather. It was always a secret joy to progress from the dull sunlight into the chaotic joy of a downpour. I think it is one of the reasons I don't like southern California so much, there is never much in the way of weather here. I miss the threat of storms, I lack the power of a thunderhead in my soul. I want my heart to race from time to time with the threat of a changing pattern.

I agree. all the years in California made me forget about weather...real weather, not the weak rains that cause multiple accidents on LA freeways. I love a huge thunderstorm!

there is a little bit of old style hand tinting feel to this which makes it a bit more charming.. but at the same time there an over riding ominous feeling here... charming and ominous... what a combo.

I used to hand tint my photos really often so perhaps the aesthetic hangs in there. It WAS ominous and we were a bit scared!
