Thank you so much. She and I are a pretty tight team so we'll make it through. Thank you for your kind thoughts on her behalf.

I just posted the last in that set of four pieces, the serpent. I hope that you like her. she was admittedly not my favorite, but she has grown on me and I'm now quite glad that I finished her. She is another green piece like the dove
It is very hard for me to feel connected to most as well. Lately I have really had issues with how easily people buy into the system. I don't understand why people value the things that they do. I see the system as flawed and the answers to fixing it as common sense... so why doesn't anybody else. I want a house right? on land? But the land would never truly be mine and I would be dictated to about how to build upon it and how to live upon it by people who do not hold my beliefs. I don't want one of these monsters that stick up out of the ground like some grim reminder of my station, but rather to be completely overlooked. I want a variant on an earthship so that I can kindly remove myself from the grid and live in relative comfort by my own sweat and tears! I guess you have to live way out in the boonies for the zoning though which is so crazy. I don't want city water, I don't want electricity from stupid wires that dangle along the road, and I don't want an obvious residence where religious people can walk up to my door and hand me various tracts through the screen because they believe I need saving. I just want to live my own way, raise my own animals and foods, and the ability guard, what I consider to be worth more than any diamond out there: my acreage and my horses!
Oh a rant... sorry. HATE being told what to do... hate it. actually, I hate capitalism a good bit and that's really the thing. I hate being forced to buy into something I can't stand because if I don't, I will starve and freeze and my husband will die from the disease that he has

Nice thanks for letting me know, I'll take a look after I type this up.
I completely agree. My boyfriend and I jokingly yet honestly have considered buying like our own little island. We're not huge grid-lovers either. We actually do live in the middle of the woods, but there are still plenty of things that you're forced to do in order to live.. electricity and all that. I wish times weren't the way that they are, but people are incredibly naive and uneducated (just a humorous example: I work at a bar as a cook. I actually had a waitress give me a ticket yesterday for a pizza which read "1/4 green pepper, 2/3 no green pepper"!!!) On top of it all the system is completely corrupt, and it would take a revolution to change the simplest of things. I think people just get so wrapped up in going to work/school and then relaxing when they have time off, that they don't even consider that life could be so much different and better. It upsets me that we're still using the monetary system, and going to work and wasting our fricken lives doing "what we have to do to get by". We have all the means to get by and more. Wouldn't it be the greatest to wake up every day and be able to spend all day with your family and friends? and have all the time in the world to better yourself and your community? we would all be artists. we would all be art appreciates and enthusiasts. there would be so many arts. there would be so much positive energy, people would just be gleaming. We'd be so stress-free. ugh, I can only dream of how utterly amazing it would be.
sorry I just went on a rant as well, lol. Now, to look at your beautiful paintings

I just feel that at some point the system forgot to embrace small business and individual needs, which is where it came from. I find it pretty humorous that throughout school we are always told that in order to embrace the future, we have to learn about the past and the various things that led different cultures to an untimely demise. I understand that it is difficult for the majority of humanity to shy away from greed, but it has been the harbinger of doom for more than one social structure over time. Now big business has control and there is no system of checks and balances for them in place. Instead there are double standards. Banks calling in triple mortgages and throwing people out on their asses , but then turning around and accepting millions upon millions of dollars in bailouts. Funding on the part of the government as a whole that is misfiled and misused. Did you know that all of the money from the state lotteries and gambling in general is supposed to go into schools and education but is instead put into the general fund. This state has had the last two governors accused of extortion and misuse and these charges had led to their arrest. Guess where that money came from... the general fund. I personally had to pay my car taxes twice two years ago because the tax collector at the time was pocketing the money and they "had no record" of it being paid. He was later put on house arrest because of his actions. These are big problems, and sadly it is the majority that rests in the lower percentile that pay the price for such things. I am angry. I do not understand how other people can't see this or are just OK so long as they are able to squeak by. In the same breath, I have no idea what to do. there are no easy answers here.
At my job, most of the cashiers can't figure out how to subtract 50% off of a regular priced item without a calculator. I am no great mathematician, but damn that's really sad isn't it? I mean I can even do most even percentages quickly in my head and I know I fail pretty hard at keeping track of that sorta thing without a slip of paper because I'm so visual.
thank you for your kind thoughts on my husband. Generally we manage OK, but there are some bad days when it is really hot.
Nothing like a good rant. Sorry it took so long to respond but I wanted to make sure I had the time to be thoughtful about what I was writing. I'm so glad that you have enjoyed my paintings thus far I will continue to post some of the lill guys and get back to some of my more involved work soon, I hope.

I completely agree. Corporations run America, and people just keep giving them more power. With low Walmart prices, people don't give a shit about ma&pa shops anymore. It really makes me wonder what the future will hold. Civilizations have fallen through greed, it's really scary though because corporations are world-wide.
What the heck? In Michigan where I live, they say all the time that the lottery goes to funding schools (which we desperately need). we've had so many scandalous politicians and really anyone who has power over any other. It makes me sick how much the people with the money get away with, and how little it seems we can do about it. We can protest, but it seems to me like the general population is fine with 'getting by'. But then protesters can easily be labeled as violent, whether or not they are. It's such hypocrisy. ugh, it's such a massive headache, a tumbling snowball.
I think technology (computers, phones, calculators) are kind of dumbing people down because we're using them too much. Most of the time when people type something up, it's informal and therefore they don't mind having errors. Those employees you work with are probably just so used to having that calculator in hand, that they rely on it. It is sad. I feel like this generation is just ...screwed. =[ I don't know what to do.
Rants are nice lol. I understand taking your time, and I'm sorry I had to do the same
