I was very pleased with how this came out and always wanted to add color. She has coppery red hair, green eyes and very fair skin and is dressed in shades of green; I see her like that in my mind.
My character Myst Moonstruck often "borrow" forms of mortals he/she/it has met and bonded with. Flame is a character in a Western my best friend and I were writing once upon a time. Our story was inspired by dreams I had; we often turned my dreams into some very vivid tales.

Thank you! I've always been proud of that one; it came out just as I wanted.
Someday, I'll color it, but I'll have to have steadier hands for that. Maybe if I get stronger...

Thanks!
I'm hoping that my right hand will get to where I can draw once more. I really miss sketching, and I'd love to do more of my OCs.

I have fibromyalgia, Carpal Tunnel Syndrome and a couple of types of arthritis. So, it's tough going at times. There have been times I can barely type and times I just have to shut down the computer because I can't do anything. At its worst, which hasn't happened since 2014, I couldn't even lift a spoon/fork to my mouth; brush my hair; or blow my nose! But, I haven't had a severe muscle problem like that for quite a while. ***Knock on wood!!!*** I'm still having problems with being able to hold a pen and to control it. I keep my film journal, but often the writing is rather sloppy.
I have had my share of scratches and bites, but they left no lasting damage except some faint scars.
It's just that my body attacks itself (connective tissue disorder) and has been doing that for more than 30 years. I keep fighting back but haven't won many victories so far.

You're welcome!
And, thank you for the compliment, which gives me confidence to share more. I like being able to offer a wide variety of images. I want to be able to scan more of my sketches to submit and to draw once more, after my right hand is up to it. It's been such a long time since I've been able to use it with no pain; it still hurts a lot and is awkward. I have so many ideas for drawings~from original characters to fan art to more of my Tarot card designs. *giggle* I've never understood why females want to draw females so much. I do draw some, but I much prefer sketching males. That's why I have a merman, not a mermaid, and plan to create male versions of other mythical beings~my pet project.

You're welcome, I hope you're encouraged to ahre more of your work, both here and out there in venues etc...
Tough to actually do art through injury, I hope things improve for you soon. Yeah, male versions of mythic types sounds cool, why should females just draw females (or vice versa)??
Good luck with everything out there, keep in touch at DA!

About the time I think I'm going to do better, my body decides to give me more trouble. *sigh* Still, I'm determined to at least hook up my scanner someday; then, I at least could submit previous drawings, lots of photographs and other items. I really miss drawing.
Thanks for the wish for luck. It's something I really need some of! *smile*

Thank you. I really am proud of this sketch. Surprisingly, it didn't take me a long time to do it, and I've always wanted to photocopy it and color it. Maybe I can do that someday.

So far, I think she's been my most-popular submission. It encourages me not only to submit my other sketches but also to do some new drawings. I have so many ideas that I'd never be able to catch up. I want to draw more of my OCs especially, plus additional ones of the OCs I already have imagined on paper. I especially hope that having a cataract removed from my left eye will help give back some vision. Right now, it's like looking through "pea soup" fog. Uck! I really miss sketching, and I bought other media to try, including felt-tip pens, gel pens and crayons.

Reading what I've written, I think, "Ouch!" and wish that I could edit! I know I was very ill when I wrote some of them because I made errors I don't usually let pass; I generally read though what I've written to catch oopses. I am not happy at all when I see mistakes that slipped past, even though I know it was during a flareup of my illnesses.

Thank you. I've always been rather proud of capturing my mental image of Flame coupled with Myst's impish nature (mymy OC, that is). Actually, Flame and Myst both are my OCs though Myst is more active in stories.

Thank you! I was pleased with the results. Someday, I'd like to color a copy; it would be vivid, with her flaming tresses and green gown. Hmmmm... Perhaps I could try various colors, just run out a number of copies and see what happens.
Thanks again!

Thank you, sir. I appreciate any feedback. This was simply for the benefit of my penpals and for me as we like to share what our characters look like. I see from the bit of writing that this was before Mist became Myst, the suggestion of a penfriend. When I came to the Net, I began using my Elemental's name on-line. Someday, I'll try to color a copy of it.

Thank you! I always especially liked this sketch, done quickly but capturing what I wanted. I hope I can still do that considering the damage Mother Nature has done to my body. I want at least functional hands. *sigh* I finally can type with more ease and accuracy.
I want to scan more of my art and create new pieces.

As afterthought, I realize that I should have identified my sketches. Myst Moonstruck the Elemental and this "borrowed form", from a dancer named Flame (I'd have to look up her actual name, as it's been a very long time since I've written about her) are original characters. Myst has been around since the Seventies; Flame, since the Eighties.

Thank you! I especially am flattered by as fine an artist as you are. The "sketchiness" to some of my sketches are due to my severe nearsightedness. Sharper edges come with wearing my glasses, which I don't do that often. This one is unusual because it's my shapeshifting Elemental in a "borrowed" form, that of a singer/dancer in the Old West setting created by my friend and I in stories. I hoped to illustrate our dreamed-of fanzines.
I'd like to do this in color, as Flame has Titian tresses and very fair skin; she is wearing a green dress, the green people think of for St. Patrick's Day.

Thanks to DA, I might just return to art with a fervor I haven't had for a long time. Except for fanzines and, before that, a few county art shows, I haven't displayed my art anywhere. I haven't even shown it to those close to me. I guess I surprised my mother; when she saw some of my submissions, she said, "I had no idea what you could do!" Now, you know, it's not difficult to impress mothers. *grin* But, it did make me feel good.
I can see Flame/Myst in color in my mind's eye. Maybe it's time I did it. I'd also like to do more sketches of my other original characters: Kyssa, Easy, Shaii and some I haven't scanned yet.
A penfriend sent me a set of special pens. Maybe I should try those.
I amazed that I feel challenged and enthused about my art and photography instead, as I feared I would be, embarrassed and wanting to slink away. DA has beginners, medium-type artists, and those really amazing ones all in one spot.
I realize now that I should have taken pictures of the envelopes I collaged for my penpals. I think I'll start photographing them. At the post office, they used to gather together to look at my latest creations. I asked them if it would cause problems in the mail, and they said, "Only if it slows down a little so that people can look at them." *giggle* I loved creating collages and even did it to my bowed psaltery case the night before I had to go in for surgery. Maybe I'll photograph the case! Whee!
Sorry for the chattering. I have a tendency to do that.
