This picture has been going around on my GIMP for ages.. now I decided to finish it because I want to do other things..Yeah, that's another Fay. Well probably it's hard to link this to the original character
Anyway..
To draw the pattern on the wings I took inspiration from the drawing on Sakura's feathers!
The background is the result of an hysteric attack I had after I tried tons of possible backgrounds without finding something that I liked... so... I'll probably upload even the only drawing of him..

The title comes from the song "Fairytale gone bad" by Sunrise Avenue.

woot O: Sunrise Avenue is a finnish band. Didn't know they're known abroad.
Anyway I love the title! ^ ^ it fits for Fay. after all, Fay is for fairy- I find this idea very inspiring : )

All right... the message I see is kinda depressing but here goes.
So, here we have a fairy that was once good but not bad, but after a tragic event, has become sorrowed, not just bad but... troubled. -points to the nails- See this? I feel like the nails represent a chaining effect. Meaning, the fairy wants to break free from the sins of the past, nail it to darkness, refusing to let it go. The eyes on the fairy, reflect the sadness and pain it's feeling. Like this "I just want out" kinda thing, and "Someone please... save me." -I now point to the rope- The rope represents the fairy's struggle between good and evil, and why the fairy is forever bonded to the rope, for a rope in real life is twisted. And the title of this piece was Fairy Tale Gone Bad, so yeah, that's the message I see in all of that. Then again -smiles- I always look deeper into things to see what's there. I'm a author and artist. I'm more... sensitive the art's feelings I guess.

Well.. do you know the story of the character Fay?
(who's not a fairy in the real story) Well you just told his whole story! Great!!!
Yeah, the thing I had in mind while drawing it (anyway, again, it was nothing special, I mean, I just wanted to draw him) was this: a fairy- a tiny, frail being that got imprisoned against his will .. He's got wings to fly, but somehow he cannot use it 'cause they're broken, and he's also captured by the nails..
Then, the original story has also sort of happy ending because he finds someone whos saves him. But, yeah, in the drawing he's without hope!

REALLY? Wow.. I AM good. I surprise myself as well as the artists when I define a message... it's kinda creepy that I keep being close to what is being said. And you know what? If they're linked to stories, I wouldn't know I just say what I think the piece feels^^

And to be honest, I knew all the things you said while drawing because I know very well the character, but of course it's not that I was rationally thinking about ir while I was drawing... So I think you felt what I felt while drawing. That's just amazing!

Ooooh pretty. My GIMP I gave up on, I can't understand it but I can understand your art just fine! I see a message in it but I'm not gonna tell until I'm sure... anyway, nice piece, it's nicely detailed and well colored.

Well I'm trying to use Gimp.. mainly because is the obly graphic program I have (and I'm too lazy to install others..
Anyway, don't worry and say it if you see any message in it!
To be honest I didn't have in mind anything very specific when I drew it, but it's always great when someone can give a drawing some particular meaning!
