I want to practice a crouching pose since I have such a hard time with the knees when people are in that type pf pose. And the perspective was kinda different too.. since we're kinda looking down on her... I used a pic of Jessica Able as Max from Dark Angle for the reff. It's not supposed to look like her.. I just wanted the pose.Related content

I have trouble w/ the crouching poses too, which is why I try to avoid them since I get frustrated trying to practice. XD Looks good though! Her face is so pretty. ^^

I really need to practice being able to do that because I rarely can get myself to do quick sketches. If I start a drawing I keep wanting to try to get it to look right or better. XD

Yeah.. I didn't really do that until this class I'm taking, but i highly recommend it. Sketches don't need to be perfect

i like your way of shading (with the clothes and hair) is that the cross line shading you did?? and any advice in creating dimensional to when you draw hair? i love the way you do it (ive also been browsing and having a look at other pplz's art to get some inspiration) any advice?

Yeah, i use cross hatching.. at the moment it's the easiest way for me to shade with pen, but I also want to try stippling(pointillism).
Um.. i don't know.. it's kinda something you have to figure out on your own.. at least that's how I had to it.. Um.. try to keep you lines flowing... no scribbles or short choppy lines.. unless the person has short choppy hair

Ah ok yeah...my friend at work (who also loves art!) has been showing me different techniques of shading and what they are called, whats stippling??Β

That's cool of her! Have you ever heard of pointillism? Where you only use dots to created a piece? You use paint for that, like what I did here: myworld1.deviantart.com/art/Po⦠Well, stippling is basically the same thing but you do it with pen or pencil.
