I became quite lazy and frustrated with the hair so I ended up doing this.
I am actually quite happy with this. It was more of a practice with the gradient mesh tool and vector really.
I believe i pulled it off quite nicely.
One thing I have learnt is to keep practicing and definitely have patience with the gradient mesh tool. Seriously, its a pain in the rear!!
