i've been experimenting with digital art techniques, relentlessly watching youtube tutorials and studying the art of other artists that simp over. as well as actually using ref photos (guys it really helps). so i am hoping that all this hard work is going to pay off. i had lots of fun doing this piece. it seems like most of the time my practice pieces turn out better than planned work. i guess maybe thats i am more willing to take the risk and try something i have not done before. also actually taking the time for background to tie it all together. i notoriously hate backgrounds but they can really make or break an artwork.what do you all think of this painting style? i think i want to keep exploring it. i love the look of texutred and brush strokes, which is present in my early works. the smooth look has always scared me, but its actuallly very fun to do.
