Rydeth, one of my Dragon Age characters (not Grey Warden).
I wanted to try a new style x3 I love to experiment >3 and I like how it turned!

9 facts about Ryd:

1-He’s 28 years old, but his serious face and his stubble make him look older.

2-He came from a very good merchant family from Highever. His parents had a lot of money and gave him and his two brothers the best education, hence the nobility of Ryd’s character.

3-His magic abilities were discovered really late, when he was almost 15 years old. Some bandits attacked the caravan where his family was transporting their products, and Rydeth tried to stop them, but he wasn’t enough to confront the men. Before one of them killed his mother, Rydeth’s powers shown and he killed all the bandits.

4-He was immediatly sent to the Circle of Magi, rejected by his family and friends, after he saved his parents. Even his little brothers told him they hated him for being a monster, and Rydeth came to the Tower feeling that his life had no sense.

5-Since his family’s rejection, he became even more quiet and introvert, but he tried to start a new life. He never wanted to have no magic, that was they way he was, so he studied really hard to become a good mage and to not waste his life.

6-He didn’t have a lot of friends at the Tower since he’s not very outgoing, but he’s not surly. The only person that made his world tremble when he was a teenager was Maien, a girl he loved in the distance, looking at her when nobody noticed, not even she.

7-Five years after entering the Tower and two years after passing his Harrowing brilliantly, he found the way to escape from the Tower, a place where he didn’t belong. He lived fifteen years in freedom and the Circle was killing him, so he ran away with no hesitation, only missing Maien. He went to the Korcari Wilds and started a new life again, living as a hermit and almost only interacting with animals. There he met Flemeth and Morrigan and became a great friend with the latter. Morrigan taught him on how to become a shapeshifter, and since then this became Rydeth’s specialization. And then, when he was free and felt complete, he discovered that Maien, his beloved, had become a Tranquil. Rydeth left everything he had and came back to the Tower hiding himself from the Templars and the other mages, risking his life only to make himself sure that Maien was alright. She was, but… she wasn’t the Maien he knew anymore.

8-Only a few people know that he’s back at the Tower, and one of those is Dashee, a girl who liked him years before. Dashee helped Ryd without conditions since the first time they met, hiding him from the rest of the world. Camouflaged as a mouse, a nug or any small animal, Rydeth went everywhere with Dashee, studied with her, laughed with her, slept with her. And little by little, he started to feel protective over her. Dashee had a low self-esteem after the pain she had suffered and Rydeth wanted her to know that for him she was beautiful and worthy of being loved.

9-He doesn’t care very much about his appearance. He learned to sew his own clothes thanks to Morrigan and usually wears leather or/and fur clothes very similar to Morrigan’s or the Chasind people. He has some earrings, but they aren’t decorative, they are used as a protection combined with small runes and spells.
