I believe it is Thoth you are talking about, the Egyptian god of the moon and scribes, and I agree, it definitely reminds me of him.

Beautiful design--I especially love the texture provided by the shading. Heck, I'm in awe whenever anyone can make a convincing bird/person mix. This creature looks majestic and graceful.
