I don't know about anyone else, but this reminded me of the forced book burning scenes in the photos of wartime Germany. It probably doesn't help I've been watching a documentary on the period earlier today.
You've got to give a little story for this, it's mysterious.

amazing shot, perfect timing. i love the expression on the old man's face, and how the main thing the viewer sees is the smoke. very emotional, beautiful shot.

that is true. sometimes we just wonder about things even though they may be things we experience (or think about, like you said) every day. there's an author (neil douglas-klotz) that once wrote: "the Beloved could be sending you a message that will illuminate your whole life in a flash" in any form, such as wonder or curiosity.
