I've already seen the anime and manga but....
I still don't get it, How did you know that England is called Arthur and America is Alfred....
(Well I know that Italy is called Veneziano because of his brother and his brother is Romano but...-.-) Can you help me with it? xD (sorry for my bad english, not american or anything that speaks english xD)

When the series first started, Himaruya gave many of the nations human names: America was Alfred F. Jones, UK was Arthur Kirkland, France was Francis Bonnefoy, ect ect. Apparantly they've discontinued the humans names but fans still use them and have come up with ones of their own for nations without names (for example, for Ukraine many fans call her "Katyusha").
