Omg, have you guys seen the new Overwatch hero? He's SO CUTE! He also has insane gameplay, he's called wrecking ball for a reason: he's literally a wrecking ball with a hamster inside, lol. I love it. He was apparently on the moon colony with Winston and the other gorillas. Is it possible that DNA experiments may lead to peanut butter addiction in lab animals?I also love the new endorsement system they added <3

Some people think he's wack, but I think all the aspects about his character fit so well together. For a while, I thought Overwatch needed this sort of "roll-style" hero and, I mean, there was no better way to build off of that than to give the functionality to a hamster. I really like the archetypes that were implemented into Wrecking Ball's hero creation such as: hamster, hamster ball, wrecking ball, and Guerrilla mech pilot. I'll actually go as far to say that I think it's one of the best designs I've seen from the game. They really upped the ante for future heroes.

Personally (and this has opened me up to attack elsewhere already)... I don't think Overwatch is the right sort of game for a hero like this. They ruled out a cat character as "too wacky" for the world of Overwatch before launch, so why, oh WHY, would they go back on their words and add a frickin' hamster? I... actually don't like it. He feels like a weird addition, and completely changes the more serious tone of the game they established up until recently.
That said... some of the fan art of him IS adorable.

It never was, and I'm aware of that. But I always thought having a character who's an ape isn't much of a step away from having human characters. A hamster, however, is just a little too far. I wouldn't mind if they didn't already say that a cat with a jetpack was a no-go. In fact, I would even have preferred that over Hammond. But now they've gone back on their word, and added in another animal. There's still loads of other types of people they could add in, so why a hamster?
Idk. I was bullied a bit in college by guys who like more "serious" games for liking Overwatch, as they thought it was too cartoony and kiddy. I'd hate to see what they think of the state of it now. Adding in Hammond dropped the level of respect I had for the game, and no doubt it did for those people, too.

AAAAHHHH!!! I'M SO HAPPY YOU DREW THE LITTLE CUTIE!!!! I laughed sooooo hard when i saw that he was a HAMSTER!!! X'D I love him so much!!!! He's a hella fun tank to play as! I can't wait to play him on ps4!

He's also ancient for a hamster at age 14. For reference, a hamster's average lifespan is around 2-3 years. To give you an idea of just how old he is, he would be over 400 years old if converted into human years.
