(: Thanks, and as for tips (I really don't mind sharing at all), are there any specific questions you have (how to draw paws, or whatever)?

xDD -knew you'd love the bow-
Mmyup, you're right about the size. The only thing here is that I normally draw her sort of leggy, and here (so that her legs didn't touch the ground) I made them a little smaller. So she'd probably be at about... the beginning of Ookami's backstripes at the shoulder or something. And yup, she's still a Cape Hunting Dog cross thingie, though I don't know what she'll be crossed with... Perhaps 3/4 CHD and 1/4 some kind of small wolf? Ah well. ^^
Yup, and not only is it simple and easy to remember, but it also fits here. The past three or so (all of them more complex anyways) just didn't fit, and even if I liked the random splotchy one, it was a pain, so here we have the happy medium. ^^
Mm, and tweak-age for everything is always open. ^^ Some kind of bright marking thingar? Hmm.. As for extra markings, I tried putting a big dark brown star smack dab in the middle of her forehead, with the 'arms' of the star above her eyes and the 'legs' underneath, but then I'd have to mess around with the placement of her eyes for it to be a real star, plus it was just... blah. That's a pretty awesome idea, I'll see if anything comes to mind and mess around with her ref a bit (I'll probably just reuse the old one 'cause the lineart's still good) and see what works. ^^

Red wolf, maybe? I think they're pretty small, and they have short fur like Kija :0. Or a coyote?
You could try a marking like this for something different: [link]
Still a star, and I haven't seen anyone else with a marking like that xD
A star between the eyes does seem cool, but one thing I've learned is you don't want to make characters with painful markings xD. Then they never get drawn. But a butt star shouldn't be too hard -thumbs up-

-checks 'em out- I was also considering Maned Wolf - she may or may not have a mini-mane like she used to, and if so it'd be a nice explanation for her sort of long and lanky legs - small overall though they might be, plus I think the tail's similar... not entirely sure. -has to Wikipedia these things-
ZOMG. BUTTSTAR. xD The star between the eyes looks great on profile pics, but if it's as large as I wanted it (not just something the size of an eye), but it'd only work if I placed her eyes like on her cheeks or something. Otherwise it looked awesome. ^^
I'd also figured out a red marking of some kind that incorporated the 'kanji'-ish thingie I use for one of her shoulders or something. But we'll see on that one. Right now my computer isn't doing too well = photoshop freezes almost constantly when I try to use it. Plus my scanner's ceased all function for some reason, so I'll have to debug before I can actually submit the ref pic that got finished like a day after this one. x( Ah well. ^^ Gives me more time to think up things like that.
Btw, the piccy's very cute. ^^ -pokes buttstar design-to-be-

Yeah, maned wolf would work (they're cool x3)
It sucks when markings just can't work Dx
Eh, I wouldn't stick it on her shoulder, simply because that's such a cliche place x3;;
It would be cool if it showed up on her tongue or pawpads though o_o
Thanks x3;; Although it looks nothing like Kija. But the big ears were fun x3

Mm, I know the shoulder's fairly clichΓ©, 'cept that I've already got pawpad markings, on the same side as the shoulder that's supposed to contain the marking thingar, though I'm still working out exaclty what it'll be. The pawpad markings are actually kanji, which is sort of lame, and will deter people from drawing that particular paw, but it's all good, 'cause I like it and nyah. The elements that make up the first four days of the week go on each of the toepads, and the kanji for rabbit goes on the big one. -is still unsure about it all-
Yus, 'cept they're a problem when that's all you draw and suddenly you have small-eared wolfthing requests to draw and it's all 'homg, nuuu'. x33

xD as much as I like having 'moon' 'fire' 'water' 'tree' and 'bunny' on her pawpads, I'll probably just stick the rabbit kanji somewhere.
-has no idea who you're talking about but has some idea of people with complicated designs in general-
x33 Dude, for my request thingars, I got one Pharoh Hound and was all 'HOMG YES BIG EARS AGAIN!!111', 'cause everything else involving doggies was all 'oh... wait. the ears should be smaller.. -redraw- ....-five mins later- oh crap they're still huge....-redraw- ...-five mins later- Good god! -redraw again-'
OOH. It'd be easy to stick that thing I have on her shoulder on her tongue. Or maybe keep in on her shoulder -has already drawn pics of Kija with it and is sort of attached to its... clichedness-, and get the bunny kanji there... or, ororor...-confuses herself- x.o

Well, a lot of the Suta-Raito Oekaki-ers in general have more complicated designs. They're also the ones prone to giving their characters hairstyles and a whole ton of fluff. (I don't want to say anyone in specific)
Hooray! xD I normally just don't pay attention to my ear sizes xD;; Unless it's a breed I haven't drawn before...
It woul;d look cool on her tongue x3. But if you still want it on her shoulder, it's fine :0. A fursona is all about expressing you, so it really doesn't matter if its cliche. (another problem with the S-R kids is they try really hard to have a "unique" design, but they end up just throwing a bunch of stuff together that really doesn't represent them, and just makes their design a pain.)

-has no idea who those guys are- Yeah, I know what you mean, with all the bells-and-whistles add-ons crap, spikey bracelets and random markings that would look nice if they were separated and put on several different characters, that kind of thing. -has seen 'em on neopets-
Nurrr, I've been drawing... well, besides Kija herself, a lot of Mittsu/attempting humans more, so when I get around to more doggie-ish things, if they've got pricked ears, I generally over-do them. If they're floppy it's fine, 'cause it's just a separate thing in my head. THat's what you get for drawing the same thing over and over. xD
Yus, makes me think of Gluttony's Ouborous (?) mark, 'cause mine's vaguely circular as well. We'll see, I might get something else on her tongue, I'm being lazy and haven't worked on her ref in ages, but I'll probably get around to it when things are a little less hectic around here D: -has been finding that there isn't enough time in a day to do everything she wants-
And yup, the more jingly stuff you add to your char, generally the worse. D: Simple but elegant doesn't seem to work anymore, as that requires thought and a bit of creativity, I guess. I like Kija's new design quite a bit now - it still encorporates a lot of the elements I liked from her CHD one, but managed to still be simple enough to remember off the top of my head. ^^
