Description The other day I was in a shop and I found this beautiful piece of bismuth. For those of you who don't know, bismuth when grown in labs (and very occasionally, in nature), forms these amazing cubic crystals that sort of spiral inwards. In addition, it's metalic with irridescent shades of blue, yellow, and pink. The stuff is great. Anyhow, I couldn't help getting this piece. Then, as I turned it over in my hands, I sort of saw how it could be a ziggurat-like city. So I decided to experiment with a bit of photomanipulation. The forest I got entirely from one little bush I happened to find in the corner of a picture I'd scanned to my computer earlier. It's amazing how few pictures of trees I actually had. Well, they turned out looking very wind tossed, so I thought "Why not have it in the middle of a storm?" I hope the rain effect isn't too cheesy.

Boy is it hard to unify photos.

This looks really cool! I have a piece of bismuth and I thought it resembled a city, too

An amazing composition. If I were to suggest anything, it would be to add more to the surroundings than the trees and rain. F.Y.I. I'm almost certain bismuth crystals never occur naturally and can only be grown with electrolysis.

Hmm. I was paraphrasing from something I'd read on them, but it's been so long that I can't be sure of the validity of the source. So it's entirely possible you're right.

Very nice! I particularly like the use of a rock to be the city, it really amuses me.

A critque though. Your trees are tossing in the wind, yet your rain is more or less coming straight down. That could use some tweaking.

Otherwise, I like it!

Nice! All the bits and pieces of this pic works well with each other. The sky, the forest, the "bismuth"-piece, and the rain. It looks like some sort of house in the middle of nowhere.

Very well done.
