I was thinking of drawing an online manga just for the hell of it. I really need to practice drawing background and different poses more... and I hope I can improve in speed...This is an assignment from my drawing class... The teacher wanted us to practice perspective.
I did a pencil drawing and I shaded it with screentones in Photoshop... I couldn't resist adding colour to the little girl and her dog.. ^_^

i love how you colored the girl and the dog, but the rest is b&w. It says to me 'hope even when things are down'. And i bow down to you also because i cant do perspective to save my life! Anyway, i love this picture, and i think it is beautiful.

The thing that I like about this picture is the fact that while everything else is colored in gray, the little girl with the umbrella and the yellow dress - although she is small - stands out like a ray of sunshine. The lines are simple and clean, the composition is nice, and the overall mood of "Don't let the rain get you down" works. Looks like one of the streets in Tokyo, especially nearing festival time.

Simply beautiful, I like how you compose the artwork overall. Anyway, the emphasis on the girl is very appealing β the way she is well position in the central focus and being only the object colored in the picture. The colored girl along with the grayscale color scheme gives me this bittersweet feeling of nostalgia. The rain and the grayscale mode creates such gloomy and melancholic tone whilst the girl is such a contrast to the picture β it feels like meeting your loved one for the first time and it becomes the imperishable memory (I hope itβs not confusing). Great artwork here ^^
