Taken in "جامع علي بتشين" (the Mosque of Ali Betchine), Algiers, Algeria.
It was built in 1622, by Ali Betchine, or Bitchin. He was of an Italian origin
and presumably called "Peccinino" or "Piccini". He converted to Islam and
was the Admiral of the fleet of Algiers.
It was converted to a chruch, in 1843, by the French and named "Notre-Dame des Victoires". Its minaret was then destroyed.
It was converted back to a mosque as soon as our country recovered its sovereignty.

J'espère que les architectes algériens ont réussi a lui redonner le style d'origine qu'avait pensé Ali Betchine.

Je me demande aussi comment c’était la première fois qu'Ali Betchine l'a bâti, mais je pense que dans ces cas de restauration, les architectes devraient au moins garder le plan original de la bâtisse. En tout cas, elle est très jolie! Voici une autre prise de l’intérieur: [link]
