Hey~ I made it on time~ Well, by American timezone standards...I guess I technically missed it in Australian timezones :'D
Happy birthday to The-Nutkase ! Hope it was a fabulous day~! And I hope you don't mind that your birthday gift has a bit of a dark theme. >>
So! These are her characters, Kye and Kato. Kye is trying to endure another beating from Kato. Dunno why, but I really wanted to draw these two, and this was the first thing to come to mind after reading on Kato's ref that he does this often. :C (Maybe this scene was the first to come to mind because I've been writing out a torture/beating scene of one of my characters recently. Heeeh...I really need to get my mind out of the morbidity gutter before attempting to make a gift for someone...) I also wanted to test out a new-ish shading style! Still not sure if I love it. It looks nice on a small scale, but when it comes to something like a fluffy chest, I'm not so sure... What do you guys think? Maybe it just needs some more practice/adjusting.

Okay, so I won't lie to you... I saw this when I woke up today but I just couldn't form a coherent sentence until now. It's been like 11 hours and i'm still trying to write how I feel, haha. :'D

That background is just amazing, I mean the trees are so... TREE-LIKE. I mean the texture if that makes sense?? And the definition between the foreground and background elements is awesome.
Kato just looks absolutely insane. 10/10 perfect portrayal.
And poor Kye just tugs at my heartstrings all the time... don't you worry buddy he'll get what's coming to him

I've looked up to you and your art for so long, and I must admit that a lot of my style's inspiration has come from your work. So although those words are probably the most overused gratitude words possible, they're the truth!

Let's just say you managed to capture his a-hole personality pretty damn well. Kato is #1 at being a complete two-faced psychopath. I wouldn't hate his character so much if he didn't act all nice to majority of people... I guess it serves me right for torturing my characters the way I do.
