This was made as part of this project:

I know that it is wrong to steal… but in this case, I think it is justified. The monks… they were going to burn it. They think it’s evil, that it needs to be destroyed… but I think --I know otherwise. And, Lord forgive me, I couldn’t let such a rare specimen be destroyed.

Werewolves are rare enough as is, and, depending on species, have a habit of returning to human form in the event of the loss of a limb or death. In addition, most people burn the bodies… so finding a preserved sample is next to impossible. The best someone can usually hope for is charred bones.

And this specimen… while it obviously has not been cared for as well as it should have been, whomever did the initial preservation did an exquisite job. There’s some pockmarks in the paw pad, and the dried flesh clings to the bone, exaggerating the knuckle.. and while much of its fur has been lost, possibly due to handling, it is still better than anything I could hope for.

I just wish I knew what species it was… vilkacis, perhaps? Grahll? Bodark? Maybe it was a lob hombre.

With time… I hope to find out. But for now... it is time to move, lest the monks suspect me of pilfering.
