this shot inspires me to shoot high contrast ilford film.

sometimes that thought comes to my mind too.
But the problem is i dont know much bout film processing, so i rely on someone else to print my pics. And im never satisfied with the results.
so it's easier for me to process it myself... because when i take a pic i know what i really want it to look like. thats why i go for digital. cheaper for me as well. haha

anyway on to the photograph. this... is perfect. my definite favourite of your entire gallery. perhaps even my favourite photograph of deviantart? i can't express just how amazing i find this piece. the movement of the smoke, the position of the hand, the wristband, the rectangular gaps in the wall, the whole thing is just... wow.
and random piece of information; i already have a photograph at home quite similar to this, of a nameless jazz musician. i found it in an old, second-hand shop behind a tattered old cupboard. i fell instantly in love with it, so much so that the shopkeeper felt pity on me and let me have it for free! hoorah!

what a great shot. I love the contrast here. The abundance of true blacks and whites really helps my eyes to take in everything. The smoke is so clear and wonderful, it doesnt "haze" the picture at all. Great perspective and a great shot.
