NatalieArcher In reply to Sir-Genesis [2011-06-19 17:11:30 +0000 UTC]

I was down at Assateague and Ocean City (though, I didn't care for Ocean City...far too many people for me xD) Assateague is amazing though

Sir-Genesis In reply to NatalieArcher [2011-06-19 17:20:38 +0000 UTC]

Wow, I've never been that part in Maryland. For OC, people going there for Summer vacation. (I haven't been there for a looooooong time. )
Now for me, I live closer to Washington, D.C. (Like 40 mins. away)

NatalieArcher In reply to Sir-Genesis [2011-06-19 17:28:58 +0000 UTC]

Assateague is amazing <3 I really recommend going sometime

And yeah, I went there a week before most schools let out in hopes it wouldn't be busy...but it was anyway xD Went on the boardwalk and ended up walking back down a back street to avoid the people xP Ahh well, at least I can say I've been there.

Sir-Genesis In reply to NatalieArcher [2011-06-19 18:22:12 +0000 UTC]

I'll consider it in the future. : D

Hmm? Why avoiding people?

Now back to the dog subject, I may think of getting a dog in the future like the one I'm commenting on or an Eskie. : D

NatalieArcher In reply to Sir-Genesis [2011-06-19 19:48:34 +0000 UTC]

haha, I don't care for large crowds is all.

Huskies are pretty; I'd love one, but, I don't think their personality would match up with me too well. I like dogs that are people oriented and huskies are pretty individualistic.

Sir-Genesis In reply to NatalieArcher [2011-06-20 04:50:29 +0000 UTC]

I see.

And yet they're quite a challenge to train since you need lots of patience for them. But I still love 'em!

American Eskimos would definitely fit for me. : D How about for you?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

NatalieArcher In reply to Sir-Genesis [2011-06-20 16:01:43 +0000 UTC]

Hmm, I can't say I know too much about American Eskimos. I'm really a sporting breed fan xD More specifically spaniels

And I love hounds, too. And a lot of other things... but spitz-type dogs haven't really been an interest to me other than their pretty looks xD

There's an American Eskimo who runs in agility trials all the time at the trialing place I go to, he is such a spazz xD He's a little out of control, too, but I think if he was focused he would be a beast with the speed he's got.

I did my homework on them, plus I got hands-on experience with one. : D

That's cool. ^^

haha, that Eskie can do better for next time around. X3

NatalieArcher In reply to Sir-Genesis [2011-06-21 23:33:17 +0000 UTC]

Aw, how was the one you got experience with?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Sir-Genesis In reply to NatalieArcher [2011-06-22 17:21:20 +0000 UTC]

It was a wonderful experience, the eskie is so playful and hardy too. Charming and highly intelligent so it was so easy to say a command. ^^ After all I was playing with my cousin's dog.

Here's a pic of the Eskie I had fun with. =>[link]

NatalieArcher In reply to Sir-Genesis [2011-06-22 19:19:00 +0000 UTC]

Aw, adorable!

They are really nice for being a smaller size :3 Grooming would probably get tedious, though xD

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Sir-Genesis In reply to NatalieArcher [2011-06-22 23:02:03 +0000 UTC]

I know right? : D

Actually, according to the the information I've read from here. =>[link]

"Grooming:

The thick snowy white coat is easy to groom. Brush with a firm bristle brush twice a week. It should be brushed daily when it is shedding. This breed is an average shedder."

This one I'm able to do, just have to keep up with the shedding part. ^^

Oh, that's kind of surprising xD Ive seen an Eskie mix at the shelter before; she was a real sweetheart, just wanted to be pet.

xDember In reply to NatalieArcher [2011-06-19 02:44:00 +0000 UTC]

I'm in northern california, unfortunately. I've got two husky/wolf hybrids and an elderly cattledog mix. This girl looks SO much like the mother of my youngest; [link] just with a more traditional plush coat.
I sure would love to have her if I were a bit closer. .0.;; How could anyone just take that to the pound?
CAN YOU MAIL HER TO ME?! xDD

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

NatalieArcher In reply to xDember [2011-06-19 04:26:45 +0000 UTC]

aw, your dog is gorgeous

She was dropped off because she kept escaping from the yard, I guess, or at least that's what I read on her

Haha! I wish I could mail her to ya ;D or teleport!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

xDember In reply to NatalieArcher [2011-06-19 04:47:41 +0000 UTC]

Ugh, that's ridiculous. .__. Huskies are notorious fence-jumpers and diggers. They should have researched the breed before getting one at all.

I never even let mine outside unless I'm with them, even with a six foot solid wooden fence. If there's no fence, I always keep them on a leash. It's nowhere near worth the risk of losing my babies.
God, I want this girly so bad..she deserves a family who actually understand her and her breed. .^.

NatalieArcher In reply to xDember [2011-06-19 06:05:04 +0000 UTC]

Well, at least the shelter did a very good job describing her so whoever does want her will have a lot of information to know about her. It could be why she's still there, but, I think it's worth her staying a little longer to find the right home then possibly ending up in the shelter again.

I don't blame you D: If I had a dog that had the potential to escape I'd never let them outside unsupervised. Haha, mine never try to escape and I still don't xD
