This was a gift for a friend of mines granddaughter. She is a BIG Pokemon fan, every time I go over to my friends she always asks me to draw her some thing as well as asks what season of Pokemon I am up to
kids are cute and she is only 6 years old but has such a lovely personality, very mature for her age.Anyway, I remembered to scan the original before laminating it and giving it to her.
I haven't drawn both Pikachu or Ash in like, foreverrrrr! D: feels good to draw again :3

Ah yes, Pokemon the first 2 seasons I have on my DVD collection and I have been showing my niece and nephew the old pokemon anime series when they have been coming over to my place to stay with me and my parents every couple of weeks.
I was going to show them the Pokemon movies, but thought that some of the scary moments might be much for my 7 year old niece, so I showed them some Pikachu short movies that were on before each of the first 3 pokemon movies.
Also my niece likes Revolutionary Girl Utena even though I have only showed her a few episodes from the first and second arcs.Β

I have seen some of the recent Pokemon episodes, they are still good but I know I am more of a pokemon fan when there used to be just 150 of them and Misty was still in the series back then.
I know that the series has moved on, and so has Ash so I understand all too well that Pokemon will never be what I used to think of it.
The positive things of the new series is that they have improved on the animations and it is not localized by 4Kids anymore.Β

I like the 80's and 90's... I don't remember a lot of the 80's lol but the 90's where a big part of my life and I loved the cartoons and that is how I pretty much decided to become an artist... :>
Ash looks horrible, the brown iris's they gave him makes him look creepy O_o; all black eyes ftw.
No Brock or Misty, instead you have weird children who like Ash, will always be 12 or whatever years old

I agree on that part, I think the reason why Misty is not on the show is because she is 21 by now.Β
And the anime won't want to risk her being back on the show because of her changes over the years.
Kinda sad, but they do the same for the simpsons and family guy who's characters somehow never grow older even though they have been around for years.Β

Hahaha yeah~ I do like the old Pokemon series more... the new one is a bit odd. Repeating everything some one says...like, "Oh that's where...(bla bla bla- Pokemon name) lives..." and then Ash or whatever would repeat the SAME thing!! "That's where....bla bla bla lives??" *facepalms* >_>;
seriously, that shitz just annoying...especially with the movies where they just drag on...the first movies where awesome compared to the new ones too, gawd knows how many there are now

"This is what how you wanna draw.." Like I said before, copying a style from some one else shouldn't be taken forever and mainly used as a reference to learn your own style. I have been drawing since I was 2 years old. I never drew stick figures though, always well proportioned within my limits lol and as I grew and got better at it I taught myself everything I do today.

I have seen the recent Digimon series on GO! channel 88 or 99 depending on what number it is.
The storyline is really good but it is on at a time when I can only see it if I don't have university classes early in the morning.Β

I can understand why some don't watch Digimon, I watch both Pokemon and Digimon in the days of Cheeze TV so I was a fan of both series.
As for what is going on?
Well I am still doing university and this semester there was a class that was running for the first time called Games Industry Awareness.
It goes into Game Industry issues like jobs, ethics, developers and publishers, distribution like physical and digital retail.Β
So far I am thinking of doing marketing and have researched where Nintendo of Australia has their offices in Melbourne.
So I am thinking of preparing my portfolio to try and get a marketing job in gaming once when I finish uni.Β

Oh yeah, I remember a while back you mentioned some thing about you doing that at Uni. You've been at it for several years, I hope you are successful in your find for work in the VG industry cause it's a dog eat dog world out there at the moment.
We actually know a few people in real life who are good mates of us at Nintendo Australia, can't wait to go for a tour as promised but it's one of those "holidays" where we'd have to plan our visit and stay properly, I was also asked to design some thing for Nintendo Au's front office area....ugggh I shudder to think what to make but will be following that up as soon as I move on from my pending commissions and other art work...

Well it has been 5 years and I have only been able to do my degree part time,Β
and the changes to the technology and market itself.
I would be lucky to do marketing for a small developer that develops games on Steam or Smart Phones.
Trying to find a developer that still makes games on consoles is really hard, but now with the Australian Dollar falling compared to the American dollar now things hope to change.
