Description Ok, before you all jump on me, LET ME EXPLAIN!

Some time ago I was wrote a fanfic surrounding the birth of each of my InuKag kids. During Izzy's chapter, while she was being named, I of course had to throw in a few extra name selections before one was "chosen". While looking for some to use, I stumbled across the name "Moriko", meaning "forest child". I rather liked it, and I could totally see Inuyasha and Kagome using that name for one of their kids, but of course I already had other names picked and planned, so 'Moriko' just kind of sat in the far back of my mind. It stayed there until I decided to create Yukio.

While working on Yukio's design, this name came back up and I kind of wanted to use it. Now was my chance! But at the same time, I really wanted him to be a boy, and Moriko is a girl's name (and a girl's name only, not unisex like Michi. XD) So I didn't use it. Perhaps that's why when I officialized Yukio, even after my brain said "Ok, stop, you're done!", my heart just kinda said, "no, make a Moriko happen! Wouldn't she be cute?!"

And so, totally ignoring the rational side of my brain saying "NO WAIT STOP, THERE'S ALREADY ENOUGH", imaginings of this little one just kept coming. And at one point, I just had to draw her.

She's not official YET (brain still clinging on), but at this point, she might well become official in the near future. :l

Also, it's cute to have one with dog ears at the tail end to balance out Michi and Izzy at the front. (No, her one ear isn't floppy like Izzy's; the slight bend there is just a side effect of being so young.

About the hair. When I started drawing this, I had two ideas: 1. black with white ears, like Kiotsu's earliest design, or 2. just make it all white (I was pretty set on the white ears. XD), making her rather like Yukio, just trading the yellow eyes for dog ears. I switched back and forth between these options several times, unable to decide which looked better, as there were different aspects of both that I liked. At one point, I recalled seeing a very small handful of other fankids who had gray hair. Though I dislike when designers try to put in both black AND white hair colors (in the form of streaks, tips, patches, etc.), I'd always been more neutral to a legitimate mixed, but solid color. I didn't particularly like it, but I didn't really hate it, either. So, out of curiosity, I did a very brief search on hair color genetics. After finding out that hair color does in fact take at least two separate alleles and there are two different pigments involved, I figured that they gray hair could be possible. So I started experimenting with a handful of different shades ranging from very dark to very light. This one leans a bit more on the lighter side, but it's still a rather "middle" tone, and I thought it came out looking cuter on her than the straight-up black or white, as well as somehow "natural". I was still just slightly hesitant to use such a design, but armed with these thoughts as well as my little sliver of research from earlier, I decided to go ahead and go for it.

Warm brown eyes like Kagome (and Izzy and Kiotsu).

IF she were to be made official, she would be the youngest. I would probably (try to) draw her even younger than I currently draw Kiotsu, too. Pretty little. So yeah, Kiostu wouldn't be the baby anymore. Though that would mean I would have to bump the others up a year or two in age (imagine Michi being nine or ten. Wut. ._.)

It would also mean six kids (though she WOULD be THE last, I super-duper-pinky-swear it!) Yeah, six, I know...though y'know, back before Korra came out, I also had a group of six Kataang kids (Setsuko, Tenzin (my version), Mizu, Kita, Kenai, and Kyo) also ranging in age 0-10, which I was quite happy with (I miss them. ;_; I do adore the canon kids, though!) and no one really seemed to have a problem with six in that case. Of course, Kataang and InuKag, though they are similar in many ways, are still two pretty different couples, so...eh, I dunno. We'll see.

(Ok, I'll be completely honest, Moriko's probably going to wind up becoming official. I'm just still playing the arguing game with myself to supposedly weigh out the pros and cons of it all. But let's face it, my brain might still be conflicted, but my "heart" has already made up its mind...soooo it's probably going to happen. XDX)

Hmm...I dunno about that. I tend to be a bit selective about which of my designs get adopted out, even though there are some that don't get used. My ancient character Nightstar, [link] , for example, or my old fancharacters Setsuko and Jaci. [link]

I have NO interest in using Nightstar anymore as I have long since grown out of sparkledogs. Setsuko was a Kataang kid (one of six. The issue's not new. XD) who got stamped out when Korra came out (though I adore the canon kids. ^^) Though I'm sure I could find a sparkledog lover who would find a use for Nightstar or someone who could make a good something other than a Kataang kid out of Setsuko (and her pet), I'm still rather hesitant to give them away.

Not to say that you wouldn't give her a fantastic home and take good care of her, of course, because you're a great friend and I'm confident that you would. It's just sometimes hard to give away your own creations, you know? XD Thank you for offering, though. :3
