Description
While sketching around and don't know what to draw, I stumbled about Game of Thrones and some fans who was angry that some characters in the series don't look like they have been described in the books.. For example "the children of the forest".
The novels describe the Children's appearance, with glowing cat-like eyes, and nut-brown skin spotted like a deer's. Some descriptions of the Children in the books imply that they look almost like humanoid squirrels (the name the giants call them literally translates as "little squirrel people") --> I hope you can see the similarty in my artwork!
Also they usually had large eyes. Some had great golden cat's eyes and a few had green or red eyes; these had the gift of greensight and were known as greenseers.
"A greenseer is the name for the wise men of the children of the forest who had magical abilities that included power over nature and prophetic visions".

So I decided to draw a child of the forest after this description. The design and the background (the forest) I try to adopt from Studio Ghibli and mainly "Princess Monoke".

So main Inspirations: Ghibli (design & background) meets a Song of Ice and Fire (idea) :3

Nevertheless this is in my opinion MY Character and even an OC - cause you want find a child of the forest anywhere that looks like this! I even think my interpretation might be closer to the books than the series is

Therefore I call her Hazelnut! I hope you like her!

Materials used: watercolor, ink, white gel pen, silver gel pen, golden puder

Update: I add some digital editing.. made the colours brighter, delete the grey shadow and made the eyes come more out! I hope you like it!
