You captured this deer well. I like that she is pretty sharp and there is still motion around her.

Thank you.. I was actually running down the field edge to head off the wild turkeys before they got into the swamp, and when I came around the corner, this doe comes running out of the woods to my left across the field, I got only 1 shot of her, and then 2 seconds later out comes the 8 point buck. I was able to get 3 pics of him before all was calm once more. Never did find the turkeys again...

Thanks, wish I had a better shot of the buck, but the one of him hiding behind the tree is pretty cool, when he has his but sticking way out in the open..

i don't know if your pro or con on this but,
have you ever thought about putting a blind in and a mineral lick.
just make one out of brush or whatever and by putting it in the right spot you'll always have the right light.
you'll not only get great shots but you will also help the deer and other critters out as well.
your deer shots are great.

I have no problem with blinds and putting out a mineral lick. I am the Chairman of the conservation commission that controls this property, so I spend lots of time here. I know mostly where the Deer will be and have some good spots picked out to use my tree stand, just like the hunters use. On this day I was clearing some brush from the far edge of a field, and spotted some wild turkeys. I was running to head them off at the brook crossing when I surprised these 2 deer.. When I go out for deer pics. I start before sun up and spend most of the day out there in the swamp watching a couple of well used trails.. light direction can be a problem, but I do try to keep the sun behind me when possible.
