Description I saw Sweeny Todd on Christmas day. It was really good! I loved the music. Anyway, I went to Italy for the next 2 weeks after that and when I was on the plane going to there, I started to draw this, and tiny portions of Sweeny Todd inspired it.

This is supposed to be DG and Ambrose after the world is saved and all that good jazz. I wanted to put DG in Dorthy's dress for some reason, so I improvised and.. yeah - this is what I got If there was a background, you would be able to tell it was Finaqua

Enjoy!

I LOVE Tin Man. lyke, 4 rlz. I actually was going to watch it later today! haha. Anyway, yes, Ambrose/Glitch is my FAVORITE character in that whole thing. Him and Cain. But I do not ship Cain/Glitch as I probably should. I actually fell out of this fandom too a while ago. Which is too bad, because it was really good for a while.

There was a livejournal comm for the two of them, I don't know if you know about it or were a part of it, but it used to have some good stories and art. I think it was just called DG/Glitch

Oh - and for some reason, I think I like Ambrose better than Glitch. But this would be fannon Ambrose, after he got his brain back and has adapted as being his old self and his recent self together

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

aisarete In reply to NautilusL2 [2008-03-03 10:41:04 +0000 UTC]

Watch it? You have it taped? Personally, I'm counting down each day (eight, now!) until my copy arrives in the mail.

XD I ship Cain/Glitch. I am a firm and obsessed supporter, actually, and I started a club here, too. [tinman-slash]. It's nearly canon... and it's nearly canon in the original Wizard of Oz books, too. However, I ship far more het pairings than slash ones for this fandom (weird!) and DG/Glitch is way up there. I think my absolute favorite het pairing is Az/Ambrose, though. Don't know why... But I absolutely can't abide by Cain/DG. I can appreciate it as art, or as a good story, but I can't accept it as ever being possible and it actually kinda squicks me.

I like Ambrose and Glitch equally, for many different reasons. But on the whole, I would rather have them both. When you think about the mechanics of it as though you were developing canon, it would be something like DID and something like weird. Basically, 'Glitch' would be too far developed as a personality to absorb back into Ambrose, and Ambrose to established to absorb into Glitch. Yes, I am obsessed enough to have spent hours filling in every blank, question, and plot hole in the series! I really do think that's what would happen, unless one personality decided not to exist, or one fought hard enough to suppress the other. I honestly do not believe that they could ever be truly 'one person' again.

yeah, I have a burned copy of the show I got it from my friend. But Im still going to buy the dvds when they come out because I want it so!!

I have been... interested in Cain/Glitch. I don't know why I never went to the live journal comm for it and take a peek inside. I think its because I had been a part of DG/Glitch since it first started and by the time I fell out of love with it, Cain/Glitch had bloomed just as much and I didnt know where to begin. I think that my OTP is still DG/Glitch, but another pairing that I thought was very cool was Az/Cain. Very convincing. I've never heard of Az/Ambrose. But hey, if you wanna convert me to some Cain/Glitch, hit me up with some reccs! I'd love to check it out!

And youre right, both personalities are fully developed within themselves. I guess what I mean is I would either Ambrose to loosen up and embrace the craziness, or Glitch to take a bath and wear Ambrose's clothes Either way I like them both, both sides of the man.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

aisarete In reply to NautilusL2 [2008-03-04 07:19:20 +0000 UTC]

I wish I had a copy, though! *still waiting for dvds to arrive*

"Do I know you?" "Good morning, sweetheart." "Cain!"
- I just can't resist! ^^

I wouldn't even let myself like Glitch at first. I tried everything not to like him, and I held out until the second ep. when he just.... /decimated/ those longcoats. I watched that, slackjawed, and fell out of my chair. As soon as I could speak, I promptly (and loudly) declared him to be the coolest thing ever and silently started formulating ways to set him up with Cain.

Az/Cain? Really? I've seen Az/Jeb (rather fond of it, too), but not with Cain. And you've never seen any Az/Ambrose...? Huh, seems like we've been looking in opposite directions! XD

But you did not just ask me to convert you. Me, possibly the most Tin Man-obsessed person you'll ever see. Under normal circumstances, I would hit you with a million different fics. But since I have recent ly found out about THIS neat little place [link] , I shall direct you there. I've got about a dozen nominations up there, anyway, and it has all sorts. Oh, and all of the nominations under same-sex couples are personal favorites of mine. And you can nominate, too!

One more thing. Luchia13. She's brilliant and anything you see by her is worth reading. If you ever want a fic recc. or to find a particular something, just ask - I've got reccommendations piled up, and I do a lot of snooping.

NautilusL2 In reply to aisarete [2008-03-04 07:36:15 +0000 UTC]

oh my gosh, Jeb is so one of the reasons I can not, ever and will never ship DG/Cain. Gosh how weird would it be for father and son to be lusting after the same girl?? Thats just... ew..

I guess we have been on opposite ends of the spectrum, I seriously had no idea about Az/Ambrose. And Az/Jeb? For reals? Thats just awesome. God I love all things shippable.. Thank god for the internet.

As for Glitch, it happened like this: Along with DG I fell hard and fast into this awesome world of Tin Man. I heard about it for.. a month before it actually started and when it finally aired I went bizzerk on it. And, yeah, when DG fell into Oz, so did I and I must tell you there's just something really memorable about meeting a guy hanging on the roof of a human sized cage I caught sight of him and didnt let go!

Of course, what I think is awesome, is that I will like specific characters from movies or shows and I will never put two and two together and see what I get. I have been (apparently) obsessed with Glitch's actor Alan Cumming since.. god... I was 10?? 9?? When I first saw that Spice Girls movie. He was the guy who broke his leg in the beginning. Back then I had no clue who he was, I just thought he was hot. Then he was the albino in Josie and The Pussycats. Had no clue then either. I just thought he was hillarious. I LOVED the villain in Spy Kids with the lovely multi-colored frock coat AGAIN never realizing it was the same guy. The last time I went a-crushing on him was when you couldn't even tell he was human as Nightcrawler in XMen. And then I find out Alan Cummings is ALL those people combined?? I must say it was a very happy day

I yelled from the heavens that Glitch was the most awesome character this side of the Rio Grande. My friends promptly put me on mute because I would NOT shut up about him God I'm obsessive... damn I love that show.

And I shall go to the links! Thanks so much, I want to find the "beginners start here" fic so that I may go about my business. You know, kind of like in the Harry Potter fandom. If youre a fan, you've got to have read this and this and this. etc etc.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

aisarete In reply to NautilusL2 [2008-03-04 21:58:47 +0000 UTC]

Oooo and there's a fic about that, too. At least one, so far. >< I find it really weird.

I hadn't even realized a spectrum like that existed! But you must read some Az/Jeb, it's very fun! ^^

XDDDD I had been spazzing about Tin Man for a full year before it came out. My mom was utterly sick of it before I had ever seen it. But you reaaaaally don't want to know what I was thinking when I first saw Glitch. The second thought, though, was - 'Ooo I like him' and third - 'NO bad fangirl no favorites this time! *smack*'

YOU'VE SEEN 'SPICE WORLD' NO WAY. I was maybe seven when it came out, and a Spice Girls devotee. But I don't remember all of it, and I didn't see Jossie and the Pussycats, so - SPY KIDS. That was the first time I decided that I loved Alan Cumming without knowing him. I will watch that movie ten times in a row, I love him so much. How can you go wrong with a name like Feegan Floop? And then - Son of the Mask. [link] I would have loved him anyway, because Loki is the coolest Norse god, but it was HIM and I DIDN'T KNOW but I LOVED IT. And then as Nightcrawler, which he did brilliantly, who has been my favorite X-Man since the beginning of time... I only found out who he was since watching Tin Man, so I've been flipping out over that...

Glitch is the best thing EVAH. Yay. And he is my favorite character ever, from anything in existance that I've seen. Norrington is a very close second. ^____^

Hm, beginner's fic... something to ease you in, or something to grab you by the throat and pull you screaming so deep into the fandom-ship that you'll never see the light of day again? *evil grin*

Well! I will answer the last part first because I found that sentence so powerful that I need to answer to it right away lest I die! I think I would like to be grabbed "by the throat and pull you screaming so deep into the fandom-ship that you'll never see the light of day again.

I would like to see how far that particular rabbit hole leads I want to know!!!!

And Im so glad that I'm not the only one who have unknowingly been following Alan Cumming since forever! Actually, my sister and i were in Spy Kids (as extras) and I can't remember if we met the man or not, but we were the robot children of his So.. yeah, maybe. We got to meet some weird people with our short stint in sho-biz

And I admit it. I liked the spice girls. I actually still listen to that one song Viva Forever even now days OO And I checked out that picture! It looks damn cool! I kinda want to check it out! Loki is mucho cool for not being a god lord but still hangin out with them

Although, I disagree. Though Glitch is super hella cool, Norrington still is the winner in my life, always and forever baby!

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

aisarete In reply to NautilusL2 [2008-03-05 01:27:42 +0000 UTC]

Going backwards - Glitch wins because of the third movie. I love Norrington SO MUCH but it just broke my heart. Glitch got that extra boost because he doesn't die.

I've been trying to find the movie somewhere so that I can watch him wander around in leather trenchcoats, but I can't seem to find it. Loki is awesome - his role in the movie is different from in the mythology, though. He's kind of... emo-ish teen. That's what he reminded me of, an emo teen who acts like a delinquent because his family seems to hate him. I always seem to want to hug him. It could just be because it's Alan Cumming.

I used to love the Spice Girls, but I don't have any of their music anymore...

Wow, you were?! That's so neat. I'm going to be watching the robot children now going 'hmmm, does that one grow up to draw slashy pictures?' XDDDD

I'm so glad you said that. Truthfully, there aren't any /one-shot/ stories that do that for Glitch/Cain (there is one Cain/Zero one like that, though). The Glitch/Cain ship is SNEAKY and ADDICTIVE. You read one and you want more, so by the time you realize that it's two in the morning and you've just read fifty stories, you're too far gone. Let me start you our with... here - [link] You’ll never be able to look at Alan Cumming the same way after watching him in β€˜Cabaret.’ In a thong.

If you don’t want immediate sexing, go here - [link]
The first fic I remember as being very clean. By the third - no. And the forth just starts out with three pages of smut. But it’s one of the best (in my opinion). It’s intense and well-written, and it has lots of Az/Jeb, too!

for a bit of poignancy, [link]
not really a pairing, but a fascinating look at Ambrose.

and for a bonus - I think this fic is the first ever posted Tin Man slash fic. [link]
and here’s that Cain/Zero that I love (warning of adult content, though) - [link]

If you decide you like the same kind of fics as I do, maybe I should just send you the compilation folder of Tin Man fics I keep on my laptop....?

RANDOM INFORMATION -
β€œβ€¦according to the Oz books, English was the official language of Oz and the surrounding lands. This was due to the fact that Oz did, in fact, exist somewhere on Earth, albeit in a hidden realm, reminiscent of Avalon.”

Would that be enough to stick it with the 9 kingdoms?

You are amazing... I think I love you

Ok where to start!!! Geeze so much!! Thank you!

oki doki. Top to Bottom.

Glitch did it in for me when he kicked the Long Coats' ASSES infront of the castle. I mean I was lovin him before, all the way from the beginning, but when that happened... holy geez, I felt the need to write "I LOVE Glitch" on my underwear from that point on But still before him is Norrington. Who was actually far behind in the beginning order of things... but some how he sailed right into the front of my heart and has yet to leave

I love love to see more Alan Cumming in general Trench coat or not. Actually I really want to see Spy Kids again because the reason I liked him so much was because he wore the most beautiful of coats with swirls of color!

I actually just went on a youtube binge for Alan Cumming. Omg. Did you see the Cumming Fragrance commercial?? Please tell me you have. Its so damn cute and... funny... [link]

And really, had I but known that I would turn into a Slash artist... *shakes head* I just don't know what I would have done with that information. When I first started there were no "ships" or "slash" well I mean there were but they weren't called that. We called them Yaoi or Het. I'm sure though that it probably wouldnt have changed much. I enjoy doing it too much!

I want to thank you for all the recs! I am actually in the middle of an outrageous animation project that I have got to get done TODAY and if not I shall die a most painful death. But as soon as I have time (so like.. in three weeks or sooner) I'll be able to read these things. For some reason, that Cain/Zero is callin my name I wonder what that means...

And that random tidbit about OZ is awesome. It is so part of the 9 kingdoms now

aisarete In reply to NautilusL2 [2008-03-05 10:11:31 +0000 UTC]

Thanks!

I never thought I would use such a term, but I actually swooned at that point - the dictionary definition. "Swoon- to feel faint with joy: to be overwhelmed by happiness, excitement, adoration, or infatuation." That is exactly it. I think I've been swooning ever since!
But they would have tied or something, if it wasn't for the fact that Glitch is one of the few of my favorite characters who doesn't die (even if they come back, like Goku in DBZ). And the fact that Glitch has two different personalities going for him. XP

As Loki, he's got all these disguises, and it's only at the end that he really wears that fun coat of his. (Alan seems to have a thing about disguises... ^^) But if you wanna watch more Alan Cumming, you've got to go here - [link] and here - [link] if you haven't already. The first one's quality is kinda jerky and you've probably seen it, but - I have Reefer Madness stuck in my head. XP And yes, I've seen the commercial. I flipped out and watched a bunch of times in a row. I REAAAALLY want that fragrance. lol

I only use 'yaoi' if I'm talking about anime, usually. I found slash first, then 'ships,' then 'yaoi.'

As for the reccs, you're welcome! And since I have a huge project that's due like NOW I completely understand. Good luck with yours, by the way! ^^ When you do get to read them, though, I'd like to know what you think.

There are only three stories (out of my very top faves) I've found so far for Tin Man that I've read and had a 'oh my GOD. Wow. Holy shit- what? Wooooooow.' moment at the end and immediately re-read the story because I just couldn't help myself. 'in our bedroom after the war' and 'The Salve of the Wounded Saint,' one of which I sent to you, and 'A Defeat More Triumphant,' which is the Cain/Zero fic. 'AI Ambrose And The Time Cain Was Kind Of His Wife' would be on the list, too, except I had laughed too hard throughout the fic and my stomach was too sore for me to read it again. It means that (in my opinion) you have awesome taste. It also means that you're screwed, cuz liking that pairing will get you nowhere. It's a rareship, unfortunately. I see more Zero/Jeb actually. With vampirism.

lol The O.Z. is officially one of the 9 Kingdoms! Ooor, /would/ it count? Because it's really a Queendom.

- bottom to top -

Well see there ya go, even more reason for OZ to be part of the 9 kingdoms. Those kingdoms were made by the princesses (Snow White, Grettle the Great, Lady Rapunzel etc) And Dorthy Gale would have been some where in there too!

I have this thing... when I read a story, and I really really like it, I get physical. Like instead of just saying "omg holy crap!" I will literally fall out of my seat in shock or start dancing or spazz on the computer desk. But that only happens with the stories that really *really* get to me. Its too bad though that I never bookmarked any of these stories!! I used to forever ago, but not anymore!!

And really Jeb/Zero?? Vapirism?? thats... weird and kinda cool all wrapped up into one. I am really excited about reading what you have there, at some times though I feel like Im cheating on my Fandoms because I go through them like how I go through goldfish crackers (a few at a time but they never last long) But the ones I really like (like Sparrington, or Norribeth, D/H etc.) I will come dutifully back to my OTPs

thanks for the links! oh my god Alan... you little minx you! Hes so hillarious and he sings! wow!

I remember reading Harry Potter as 'yaoi' first and the first time I heard 'slash' was... four or five years ago?? I think thats right. Man I've been reading fanfiction for 8 years now. go me

And oh yes, I swoon more often then not. Specially when Glitch is in the picture (as he sometimes is) I definitely swoon everytime Norrington enters the frontal lobe of my mind *swoon* Oh James... ! Oh Glitch!

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

aisarete In reply to NautilusL2 [2008-03-06 03:20:16 +0000 UTC]

-bottom to top-

Glitch! James-!

I started with Harry Potter as slash eight years ago... I heard 'yaoi' after finding and reading 'FAKE' at Barnes and Noble, four years ago. XDDD

You're welcome! I needed to not be the only one with 'Reefer Madness' stuck in my head. Alan can be such a tease, I think. I'm starting to wish 'Tin Man' had been a musical...

Yes, I don't really know how that all started, but the Jeb/Zero w/vampirism is there. It is kind of weird, but interesting and I keep an eye on the stuff. :3

I get extremely vocal about the ones I like. I 'squee' and yell and giggle and all sorts of things if I really grow fond of one. But the tell is the stories that I like SO MUCH that even years later, I'll remember it with a jolt up my spine and it gives my the shivers.

I don't bookmark much anymore - I got a [link] account and I just use that.

Oh, I hadn't thought about that! It really is perfect, isn't it.

Ok! Phew! My god have I had a busy few days. I am so sorry that I just dropped the conversation right out of the blue, I had to do my homework though. It was getting massive!

So. From top to bottom, I shall answer these

Every time I even THINK about Glitch or James, I get this bubbly feeling in my chest like I want to laugh and faint at the same time. Gods I love them. They are just too damn awesome for words.

I actually started out with Anime fanfiction all those long years ago. I believe, but I dont remember, I believe it started out with Gundam Wing or Sailor Moon. Don't remember which. But it was good, and it was happy. I was pretty 50%-50% with the slash/het ratio. I didnt prefer one over the other. Now I sort of do. I think I tend to read more yaoi than anything else really...

And how is FAKE? I've heard of it before but never have read it...

I showed that link of Reefer Madness to my friend and he was laughing his ass off because he could sing. I promptly sat him down and made him watch that Cabaret video and needless to say... he laughed no more... I totally loved it. My gosh is he multi talented...

The same thing happens with me too when it comes to reading! I freak out physically, and verbally. I dont know why I have such violent reactions to really well written stuff but, lets say, I read something really good. Like... a fight scene that turns really sexy and theres smutt in there or whatever. I will sometime squeal/make some noise then turn to my side and just start TALKING to NO ONE. Randomly. Like I need to tell someone about the awesomeness that is this chapter. The words come out - I cannot harbor them!

That bookmarking site sounds really cool... I need to either get me own of those or start taking better care of my links!

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

aisarete In reply to NautilusL2 [2008-03-10 22:32:00 +0000 UTC]

Oh no no! I totally understand. I saw in the exact same situation a minute ago, and it's all just starting to die down. ^^

Top -down:

Every time Glitch or James is brought up, my mind goes into this intricate little whirl of lovey-ness. I think one day my brain will get stuck thinking about them (not that I would mind, overall). And all this talking about them at the same time... I'm going to end up doing some weird, POTC/TinMan fic or something! XDDD

Right after I discovered Harry Potter, my aunt discovered Google. She looked up Harry Potter stuff for me, leading me to FictionAlley [link] and I've been fanfiction obsessed ever since. On story... five? eight? I found Harry/Draco. I didn't even know what the word 'homosexual' meant before that, so... I took it in stride, and just read whatever. Now... I would rather have slash/yaoi than het, but crack-fics trump all. Ooooh yes.

FAKE is awesome-love-heart-ness. XD I definitely reccomend it. But if you read it - I always thought that 'Bikky' was an odd name. Then I found out that it's written 'Vikky' in Japan, so it's probably short for Viktor. Just in case it has you going 'wtf?' like I was. ^^

Oh gawd, just the way he goes 'MARIJUANA!' *gasm* And the way he sings the chorus (acctually, the way he says 'whores' and anything that rhymes with it). *SWOON* It's so great, I love it. I would have so LOVED to see your friend's face, watching Cabaret. Woulda been great. But he is AMAZING. I stand in awe of his talent.

GAH- I DO THAT TOO! I just randomly start babbling about whatever is going on in the story. Or if something funny happens, I tend to act it out. XDD

The site is great, because you can put in tags and a description for each favorite you add. I always have problems when I save a fanfic, not remembering what it was about until I click it. With the site, you can just see what it is, why you liked it, everything. And you can look up other stuff with the same subject using the tags... It's great.

About Harry Potter 7, though... I had this niggling feeling and so I went back to re-read the epilogue. There is even less description than I thought! But get this - all it said about Albus is that he was the only child to inherit Lily's eyes. Scorpius is only described as looking 'as much like Draco as Al looks like Harry.' Since we don't know what Scorpius' mother looks like, they could both look NOTHING LIKE THEIR FATHERS AT ALL. Now, this is disregarding anything that may have been said outside of the books, because I don't remember whether or not a better description of any of them was ever given in an interview or such. But really, they may be completely dissimilar.

In fact, Draco married Daphne Greengrass, and I think she was mentioned in the books as having dark hair and eyes. (not sure, though) If so, it would be a genetic anomaly for Scorpius to be blond!!!

Oh my god I meant to write you back sooner, but so much homework! The never ending pile of flash files! *is swamped by projects* Lets see, finish animation project, do lip synch AND animation for 3d, make a music video, light and texture a room, write 6 movie critique essays, and another paper about what I have done for the past 11 weeks for animation. Good gosh I cannot wait till spring break.

Ok, so my experience with the Harry Potter fandom is SO radically different from yours I cannot even begin to explain. First of all my sister was a Potter NUT. She had the books and the bubble bath, the toys and video games and the board games, she had a wand and some clothes... she had been put fully under the spell of Harry Potter. She was... 10 I think... and obsessive.

Well the first movie was coming out and though I thought it was nothing special, it was ALL my sister could talk about. I had made it plain and clear that I would never be caught dead in the fray of Harry Potter. Never would I be so obsessed, never would I like it. But then I saw a commercial for the movie and the music is done by none other than my love John Williams so I wanted to see the movie JUST for him. No other reason. I just wanted to hear pretty music.

My sister went off to church camp for a week and since i had nothing to do but think about that lovely music of John Williams, I decided I'd get her first Harry Potter book and read the back cover.... then I read the front cover... I thought to myselves that it sounds pretty cool so I'll just read the first page... then the first chapter... and somehow in an entire night I read the first three books I have NO clue how I did it, I dont even remember finishing the first book, but SOMEHOW I read all three books out at the time.

And promptly became obsessive

So now I have been a closet Potter Fan for the past six years or so... *shakes head* I can never let my sister know because then she will label me as the biggest hypocrite ever! I have to keep it mum. Never let her see I'm looking around for Harry Potter websites on the net... can't let her know.

And HP is one of the fandoms I look the most into. I ship the SS/SB, SS/HG, HG/DM, DM/HP pretty much and I'm pretty sure the first place I went to was ff.net

I shall look into this FAKE you speak of, it sounds pretty cool! But Bikky... thats a god awful name... feel sorry for the kid that has to live with that!

Oh when I showed my friend Cabaret he was just laughing and stuttering and was so shocked! Specially when he took off the coat and he's just grabbing himself, I'm pretty sure my friends eyes fell out of his head in embarrassment. It was so darn funny!

And as for book 7 wow! Go you for doing the research! I dont know if you read some of the comments left by others in that "Oh the Fandom" picture of Al and Scorp, but some people were all "THEY LOOK LIKE HARRY AND DRACO OR NOT AT ALL!" on my picture! I haven't read the book since that first night it came out so I cant recall what it says but I'll definitely take your word for it! I dont think they would look like carbon copies. I think they would look more like a mix of (quess what!) a mom and dad.

And thats so cool that you know who Draco marries, I cant remember her at all but I hope she did have dark eyes and hair. Get the kid out of the bleach blonde look...

...random thought. wouldn't it be weird if Astoria had green eyes?

can't you just imagine Al, looking as stereotypically Irish as possible...

and Scorp, from a family of blonds, with black hair and green-grey eyes...

trippy.

I think that it would be super cool if Al DID look really Irish and Scorp if would have black hair and either blue eyes or the green eyes. It would go back to vicariously to the black haired blue/grey eyed traits of the Black family as well. Reincarnation Sirius maybe?

OO... I love Snape. Snape Snape Snape. You =

Jeez, you ARE swamped! All I've got now is... the CHSPE this weekend, and hopefully I'll pass that. Good luck with your work, though. How far off is break for you?

AI'S HISTORY OF HARRY XD

...I think I was your sister. XD I didn't even glance at the books until the fourth one was out - someone told me it was scary, and I was young and naiive. But one day... event precipitated that I sat at the top of my aunt's stairs looking through her books. The only ones that weren't too adult were 'The Wizard of Oz" (which I had just finished) and "Harry Potter" 1-4. So I picked up book 2 (it sounded more interesting) and was addicted by page 14, at which point I forced myself to read book 1 first. All four books were finished in about a week (I had to read them in UBERSECRET because I technically wasn't allowed to touch my aunt's books), at which point I saw the first ad for the movie (fourth page of a Disney Adventures magazine, which I still have) and I've been irredemable ever since. Between that time and when the movie was released, I got fanficked and discovered slash in the first day. I only ship cracktastic pairings (like Severus Snape/Gregory House, or Harry Potter/Tom Riddle), or canon pairings (like Severus Snape/Lily Evans (I like Snape)). Or Al/Scorp, however odd the names might be. XDDD But I read it all (like Severus Snape/Giant Squid (I like Snape a lot)).

Bikky is a god-awful name. I get a little bit twitchy every time I see it. That's why I just replace it with Vik in my head.

My aunt (yeah, same one) has seen Cabaret, and when I told her he was the Emcee and had played in a bunch of kid's movies, she was all surprised and stuff. But she absolutely freaked when I told her he played Nightcrawler. Apparently she'd seen him and thought he was amazing. Another converted to the Alan Cumming Revolution!

I hadn't seen the other comment, no. But I totally goofed on my information. I wrote Daphne Greengrass, but Draco married her sister. I believe her name is Astoria (it seems to be the general consensus). They both have dark hair, though, so it still works out. Split Seven Ways wrote a song about them that's kinda neat - [link] and Every Star in the Sky is a good song, too.

Om my god yes I am. Thankfully though I think I have completed all that I need to do for my 2D Animation (yay! and I survived!) that was the big one that was gonna kill me... Now I just have to work my ass off on 3D animation and lighting and texture and write all those essays... *shakes head*

Unfortunately I have a really short short break before I have to dive right back into class again. I get a week off for spring break like the rest of the schools but my summer and winter break are only 3 weeks long. So.. yeah, hardly any recovery time.

And thats so crazy! I could not believe I got hooked on this stuff! I had to keep it so secretive and I have not told ANY of my family members because they have me pegged as a Potter-hater and if I tell them the truth... I'll be flogged and shot prolly I remember that when I was reading the books in secret, my sister came back from that summer camp trip. I'm pretty sure I was reading the third book and since the books were in her bedroom, I would quietly go in there in the middle of the night and sneak them out from her bedside, run back to my room and read as much as I could before I got too tired and had to return them It was a super secretive covert opperation...

Well huzzah for your aunt! You must feel proud that you are a converter! She sounds really cool.

I tend to stray away from crack!fic just because my life is crack!fic and I like reading the really long... LONG stories that take forever to get where they are going. I get fed up with stories that have sex or making out, etc. but the third chapter. I need something with volume and lots of... back story?? angst?? commitment?? action?? I dont really know... but if there is to be sex and all that good stuff early on, by god there has got to be a good reason for it. I don't like jumpin th gun.

But at the same time, if it is a fandom that I've been part of for lyke 4ever (ditzy) then I have no problem with crack!fic. I read those kinds with my Sparrington OTP. Yay PotC!

I checked out that myspace page! Its so cool! Thanks for the link thats some really neat music. And dont worry about the names, hell I dont even remember an Astoria person in the books

Astoria was never in the books - only Daphne was mentioned. XD And you're welcome. If you liked the wrock, have you heard of The Weasel King? [link] I am in LOVE with him. I must have listened to 'The Instigators' twenty times this week, and 'Already Dead' makes me cry.

See, I tend to start with canon things when going into a fandom, but once I've established my obsession, I look for crack!fic. I look HARD. Most crack!fic is pointless and maybe a bit funny, mostly just weird. But if a good author takes the time to research everything and form a solid plot, then it has to be good. I mean, if someone writes well enough to make crack seem plausible, then you have to be really good. It takes a long time to develop the charaters and plot twists sufficiently, so you end up with a crazy novel!fic. And then it has to be involving, to keep a fanbase going long enough to finish the story, and for people to acctually review and make the author want to keep going. And all that... is what I look for. Crack worked over until it's not even crack anymore. XP

My aunt is pretty cool. Extraordinarily tempermental and more than a bit overbearing, but she's cool. We share a love of Harry Potter, fine jewelry, and unique hats. And Alan Cumming. XDDD

It was much like that with me. Lots of sneaking around and reading for hours in the middle of the night, except I would hide in the downstairs bathroom. ^^

Oh good gawd. What the h kinda break is that?!?! Well, good luck, my friend.

I only have three more finals to do and then I will be completely free!! Well... if only for a week. Then I have to get my ass in gear and do a freakin demo reel. Its super scary. More scary than facing Voldemort I'd say. Harry - you got nuthin on the fear of not passing your demo reel - it means failing at life!

I agree with you on the wole story reading thing. It takes a lot to keep me interested in a fic. It has to have a good author for starters, with a solid plot that doesn't pitter out and characterization that I can believe. I'm all for a little OOC-ness, because, hell, fandom is fandom because it cannot be canon right? So there has to be OOC. As long as I can believe it, it works. A super big thing for me is research in fics. Gosh you cannot believe how happy I get when certain things in fics turn out to have some historical accuracy. Especailly in Pirates of the Caribbean fandom. Thats my true true love. When authors do their research on Naval customs, or dress or figure out the different ships and speech... it equals love for me. Thats also something that I look for in everything though. Even in Harry Potter I want the impossible to seem plausible through research. I love reading fics that are super super long and take forever to finish reading.

I had an aunt, Nancy. She died three years ago but she was the most amazing aunt I have ever had. She was willful and terribly funny and I think she may have also been in love with the Harry Potter books. But then of course the cancer got to her too...

Why did you have to read in the downstairs bathroom?! Ah that sounds uncomfortable...

OO and on another note, I meant to write to you because I had an epiphany! So, its TOTALLY cool for wizards to shun the idea of electric light switches, or televisions, or even toasters... but it is completely ok for Hogwarts to have modern flush toilets and hot and cold shower stalls?! Hello, modern man made that (thank you Mr. John Crapper, or Thomas Crapper or whatever your name is...) I know the toilet had been around for a while but the little knobby on the side to flush it is a new(er) invention. Same thing with the shower stalls... Hogwarts probably went to Home Depot to furnish their bathrooms...

Good luck with your finals! I know you'll do great.

A well-researched, well-executed fic is one of the greatest finds ever. You have to track them down sometimes, but it's well worth it, right?

I like those for Pirates of the Caribbean, too, but I have to take the author's word on most things. I don't know much about Naval customs.

I'm sorry to hear about your aunt. I'm glad you got to know her, though!

I had to read in the second-floor bathroom because... That's what I did. We were staying at my aunt's townhouse, so the only things on that middle floor were the dining room, kitchen, and that bathroom. The guest bath upstairs was my uncle's private bathroom, and the master bath was my aunt's, so I never really used either of those. And it got too hot in the guest bedroom during the day, so I didn't spend much time upstairs. Since you could overlook the living room from the second floor, the only place I could read and hide the books was the bathroom. I always snuck in there to read. I hide books in the bathroom at every place I stay. I'm hiding in the bathroom now, too.

.........

*is imagining Hogwarts staff in those cheesy Home Depot comercials*

Thank you for the luck, I am sure it helped. I havent checked my grades yet but I am sure I passed. Im sorry I havent written back sooner I had to get my wisdom teeth removed yesterday and I've been drugged up ever since!

I actually read all the fics that you sent to me on the plane! I really liked the fic called Tangible and the little series one with Az/Jeb! Both were very sweet and cute and I liked them... but I didnt *love* them. Any reason for that you think?? maybe if you had something else to recc it would fit my mood. I have been watching Tin Man on DVD so I'm falling back into my faze!

Oh well I haven't seen the musical, but I have a teacher who's seen the original with Agelina Lansbury (I have no clue if I spelled her name right). I liked the movie, but I have a low tolerance for creepiness and that was A LOT of creepiness. Only Johnny Depp and Alan Rickman made me stay in my seat
