What art program do you use that you have burn tool??

I always use PhotoShop to do the coloring. However, if I'm not mistaking, a lot of other programs offer you the same tools like, for example, SAI.

Just one question: why do you choose gray as the color for the "whites" instead of white itself? o.o Does it let the Burn tool work better?

That's a good question indeed. The grey is a good choice since you can use pure white to light.
It may seems weird on this tutorial though since you don't have the skin color in the example. However, it looks pretty good when you do have it (the grey fades off a lot and looks much more like white even though it's still the same color).
Here are some examples made with this tutorial (yes, the '' white '' of the eyes is in fact '' grey '' ~

Ah, I see. 83 It would probably work especially well for me because most of my characters have dark-colored eyes, too.
I have a character whose eyes are supposed to be bright, so I probably wouldn't use anything darker than pure-white, but for the others, it would probably work~

On Photoshop do you use Adobe? And if you do do you use illustrator?

I used Photoshop CS 4 on PC and now I use Photoshop CS 5 on a iMAC.
This technique works pretty well with all the different photoshop and computers.
I don't know for the other program like illustrator or SAI but if they have the dodge and burn tool it should work properly. ~
