Hi, sieht echt klasse aus. Was mir persΓΆnlich nicht so richtig gefallen will, ist die Kopfform. HΓ€tte markanter ausfallen kΓΆnnen.
Hast du damit eine animation vor? WΓΌrde ich gerne in bewegung sehen.
Great Work!!!

Rendered in Cinema 4D and then massively touched up in Photoshop... the overall model is still the same as in former versions, I just added several tags for easier animation
Here's a step by step animation of the post production process in photoshop: [link]
taken from my descrition...

Amazing.
I can't really give constructive critique though, you can't improve on that.

Ah yes, my favorite piece of yours! this is so atmospheric. The background and the dust really settle the mood here. And modeling-wise, it's awesome. Love all those little bumps (armor plates?) all over it.
The pose is realyl cool too, like he's pointing to you, and "your ass is going down."
Love those glowing lights too.

to me, it looks, at the same ttime, with a man steping on the moon for the first time (I mean, that "manly" thing... ) and also with the "I want you" poster of usa! I do, really! I don't know why, tho...
Now, I went over the work again and I suddenly read a comment that said it was the terminator theme and yes, I agree, because it reminds me the film, also.. in fact, it reminds me everyfilm and scene of colonization (does that word exists? I mean, english is not my native language, so I'm sorry...) and war!
And talking about terminator, just when I eard that word I automatically associate with those suspense and horror movies sound tracks and star to feel funny, almost like a nightmare, but I'm awake and here it's day!
I'm also very fond of this robot (?) design, it's kinda like the !!! Very apropriatte to DA, I think! and the golden tone is allways such an eye-candy... And I don't know where I've got the info about it, but it was tested, and the most likeable tone is golden, you knew?
btw, I said all of this before reading the description and, then, seeing that this was a daily feature! Oh my.. and with reasons for it! I've just saw the link to it in a journal of a group of critique and decided to check it...

hey thanks a lot for the comment... means a lot to me, that you took the time...
didn't know about golden tones being the most popular... woulda guessed, that it's the blue ones...
It's also cool, that you mentioned what associations you had when looking at it and thinking about it!

Positive: It's very clean and the coloring job in photoshop was pretty flawless. The blue for eyes and the center drive unit thing is a great attention grabber and makes you think about what really is going on inside.
Negative: I'm not a huge fan of the armor setup, it's kind of like a ton of boobs with nipples, IMO. Even though I like how it turned out, the brown/black swirls in the back look f*d up and kind of distract from the main point of view, Spot. If you were to simulate an army behind him with those swirls being heads of other driods, I would be more impressed.
My 2 cents.
Toyo
