Description I have used four layers of pen, marker and two kinds of ink to make the background as dark as it is. It still shines  in the light, though. Fortunately, bamboo paper is really resistant.

Edit: I had to change the main file because when I looked at the picture on my tablet instead of laptop, it had a pink tinge to it. It still has some, but I think it's because of the scanner

Cool details! What is the story behind this one? (I also love the crab)

Thank you ^^ Well, the story is pretty simple yet hard to describe. But I'm not against interpreting it in different ways. That's just my version I wanted to make it look like the mermaid is letting her hair down into the water for the fish to start circling around it in order to eat it (the idea came because I was wondering what's the point of mermaids having hair in the movies xD). All of it is for a natural phenomenom to occur - whirlpools. I think you can imagine what happens after And the crab is just an opportunist; eating little fish that have yet to join the sphere.

Wow that's really cool. I never thought of why they have hair haha...What did you mean 'you can image what happens after'? sorry I couldn't follow
So the hair is like something that makes water currents etc? or the interaction between the hair and the fish?

What I meant to say, is that there are different scenarios for what exactly the mermaids are creating the water currents (like for example protecting their nest against humans while stirring them away). And yes, the whirpools are an effect of interaction between the fish and the hair.

Oh! That's such a cool idea I'm glad you found a purpose for their hair cause bald mermaids are not pretty XD

That is so awesome! Too much to take in at once. Love the shading!
Btw, how big is the drawing?

Thank you   I know it may look too chaotic but I hope it isn't too much. The picture is actually an A4 format with a centimeter cut off at each side of the leaf. Sometimes, while I work, the corners bend so I prefer to be safe and make some margins.

It's  just the right amount of chaotic to tie my attention. Having fun trying to discern all the little fish in the school of fish.

Haha When my family looked at this picture they were all like "Okay, I see a mermaid... but what is this sphere?"

Wow, this is really original. A flurry of fish eating a mermaid's magical hair? They make such a mysterious sphere. Awesome sense of movement, and the details must've taken forever. The crab is funny, is he taking the opportunity to hunt the tiny fish near the bottom?

Thank you so much for the compliments. It didn't really take that long, really. Or at least I don't think so. I get lost too easily in drawing so I don't remember the exact number of hours it took me to finish it You've got it right about the crab xD Where two quarrel (or in this case more than two), a third wins, right?

I guess time is a relative thing. When I'm in the "flow" I lose sense of time too. Oh so I got it right, yeah I suppose so.
