Description I don't want to see.
--
This is a part of an assignment at school, where Low Key and High Key were the topics. (This is obviously High Key.) It's my first time working in a studio, so be gentle. Technically, it's not great... Too bright here and there, but I'm still learning.

Camera: Canon eos 300
Film: Kodak T-max 100 (BW film)
Lense: Sigma 105mm Macro
Shutter Speed: 1/125
F number: F/22.0
Focal Length: 105mm
Photoshop: Nothing, except cleaning up after the stupid scanner...
Model: Marie

--

What's funny is that I did 36 high key shots, I developed the three in this series because I liked these compositions the most. I didn't see until afterwards that they kind of represented the "See no Evil, Hear no Evil, Speak no Evil" clichè.

p.s. the detail portrayed in this shot... is to kill for. from the skin texture, to the cotton weaves, to the unpredictable hair. i love it!

Beautiful high-key. I struggle to get nice high-key with my all natural light.

This is just a stunning example of HK. I love that you've used all whites with the clothing too. Really blends well, and yet also shows off significant technical skill, in the way you have kept the white details from blowing out, especially in the hat and scarf.

I use Kodak T-Max400 for my film. 100 requires too much light, so it's good to use the 400--I suggest it, unless 100 is required for your class.
Other than that, this is a beautiful picture.

How can anyone not love this?

As a designer, I really love the brightness and how the girl just naturally blends into the background without any digital airbrushing.

white hat = cute/innocent
puffy face = cute/innocent
the hand pulling down the hat = childish, hence, innocent.
but the lips tell a whole other tale... and I love that.
nice work.

Nice and soft

1/125 isn't that a bit short? I thought the eos 300 had problems syncing at those speeds with studio lights

High key is meant to be over exposed. Yes, you got a little overboard, but you could correct that with a lower contrast filter when enlarging it. If this is your first try- you are on your way to being great at high key! (I prefer low key work, btw, as it is more flexible)
