I don't usually post this late... or this character... or this kind of art. Ahahaha!So, I drew this because I haven't had much time to myself recently. I've had approaching 20 online commissions in the past couple months ontop of some normal work that's made me -so- busy drawingwise... ANYWAY! As a result of this busyness I haven't had time to practice some techniques and things I've really want to practice. This long list of 'stuff I want to do' includes NON-japanese (or Naruto) architecture, tones, and loads of other stuff I haven't tried this pic <_< >_> I decided to have a little break and actually draw for myself.
I only did a little building pic-study before doing this, but didn't avtively use any ref so you'll spot some purely imaginative building features in there.
The lineart's traditional (and took the longest) all the toning is digital, (sorry, I am a cheapskate!) but imitated traditional techniques. Actually I went seriously heavy on the tones, because I wanted to practice them. I used so many techniques in there XD
Yeah I know, it's not fanart for once, this one's mine. I know he looks a bit Minatoesque so I've added more tweaks to his hair... my sister suggested the front bits be uber-long, but combined with his clothes, he stopped being heterosexual at that point, so it stays short. (A.N. that's just the way this guy goes, not a must for all characters)
To be honest, he is -slightly- based on David Bowie... mostly from the waist down.
Sadly he still has no name T_T apart from the designation of 'Mentor Dude'. Name suggestions will win you love! (and yeah hopefuly he'll be a character in my first manga..) The phrase on the pic sums the guy up, so... I hope this still interested you =3

I think the darker tones and blacks balance out the amount of grey. The way the background fades as it gets farther away (in terms of detail and line) gives a nice impression of depth. I REALLY like the way you incorporate drawn lines and hatching. It somehow fits really well with the fantasy elements.

Is he based off any anime characters. XD I have a character that looks just about exactly like him, appearance based off Hatsuharu Sohma from Fruits Basket. Even the `stone facade` part is familiar...THIS BE AMAZING, YO. OwO

I do truly enjoy your work, it is a true mix of both Fan-art and Original, and that is what I truly do enjoy...as for a name...
Marduk. Why Marduk? He was the Ancient Babylonian God of Wind and Life. He watched over Babylon (Fits the "Watches over them" part in the pick.) Also, he was known to be calm and passive, which your character portrays in this picture.
Anyway, the naming is up to you, I just hope you take mine into consideration, and that will make me happy enough ^^. Keep your creative juices flowing!

Ps. Marduk was also a protector and a watcher of the citizens of Babylon, which would fit the 'Mentor Dude' persona you have already picked for him ^^

He looks so gorgeous. Like a real lion in human form. I were really amazed, when I saw this art. Looks so true and clear. I love his design and the backdrop just helps to interprite feelings of these words, written under his head.
Truly adorable work, and needs no color to say everything. I prefer to see it in black/white styling and it really suits.

He is minato esque face wise and hair wise. but it stops there. his clothes and what seems to be his character seem different. and how many people don't run into a character who looks like someone else. I think he fits nicely.
