From Nasu himself: β€œLike comments such as β€œChampion of Butlers” said, he is an all-purpose character who performs well in battle, housework, and sarcasm. He’s definitely a good purchase if you, as a Master Candidate, wishes to experience the elegant life of nobles.”

He should change his Class from Archer to Butler. LOLΒ

one Servant to outclass them all, Herc may tear down walls and rip apart chains, but Archer can fixed them up

...and Saber gets switched to Maid? or better Rider gets the new class?

You'd think the daughter of one of the founding families would know that treating a Servant this way is, what academics call, a bloody stupid idea...

Elly3981 In reply to Uradin [2015-04-11 03:31:43 +0000 UTC]

I was told that a servant is only obligated to protect and obey their masters as long as they have the command seals. If and when those seals are used up, a servant can easily turn on their masters, especially if they were treated poorly

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Uradin In reply to Elly3981 [2015-04-11 18:38:09 +0000 UTC]

Not really. The command seals provide three commands that are near-impossible for the servant to defy, as well as the power to make the command real with very few constraints. That said, the Command Seals does jack all to ensure constant obedience. They can best be described as three "Get-Out-Of-Fuck-Up-Free-Cards". The reasons they obey the Master in the Grail Wars generally consist of a common goal, (sometimes grudgingly) respect for the cermony and the fact that when a servant is summoned without cataclyst, the Master recieve a Servant that match their personality, so in these cases the Servant respect the Master because they are somewhat alike. But no, possessing Command Seals alone doesn't garantee obedience all the time until the seals are used up. Had Tohsaka acted like this with, say, CΓΊ Chulainn (F/SN Lancer) as Servant, it'd have made little to stay in his good grace, and I doubt that he'd be as patient as Archer.Β

. . . Did this make any sense, or did I mess up the typing?

Elly3981 In reply to Uradin [2015-04-12 06:04:25 +0000 UTC]

Funny you say that because not all servant/master teams are comparable in goals or personality. Gil obviously didn't like Tokiomi and Lancer hated Kotomine but both were bound by the command seals to their masters' will. Saber also didn't like Kiritsugu because she thought his methods were less then honorable. Its kind of ironic that in Fate/Zero, the only masters who had close relationships with their servants were Waver and Ryunosuke. Also, I believe that servants must protect their masters at all cost because they are the anchor that binds them to the human plane; if they lose their masters, servants will dissappear though some can last longer then others without a master, giving them enough time to make a contract with another master.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Uradin In reply to Elly3981 [2015-04-12 09:26:10 +0000 UTC]

well yes, that's the thing with using cataclysts: choosing between having a Servant with great legend with the possibility of great power over the Grail giving you a Servant that suit you. And with the matter of anchors, that's more a case of simple survival-instinct then any garantee of loyalty. After all, Gilgamesh did ditch Tokiomi in favour of Kotomine.

Elly3981 In reply to Uradin [2015-04-12 16:32:37 +0000 UTC]

Gil is a very difficult servant to control; he doesn't like being given orders and I'm sure he would have killed Tokiomi himself if not for the command seals. He chose Kotomine as his new master partly because they have similar goals and partly because Kotomine is more willing to let Gil do whatever he wants. It does help for a servant and master to have mutual respect and understanding and even better if they could be friends.

Uradin In reply to Elly3981 [2015-04-12 16:55:52 +0000 UTC]

well yes, but there aren't many examples to mention. The stories'd be damn short if the servants acted the way you might expect but that aside, I get the feeling we're just dancing around basically the same opinion at this point

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Elly3981 In reply to Uradin [2015-04-12 17:44:13 +0000 UTC]

Maybe true. Romantic relationships between masters and servants are also interesting to see. If they are of the opposite gender.

Elly3981 In reply to Uradin [2015-04-12 21:44:59 +0000 UTC]

Yes, if you noticed, nearly all the servant/master relationships where the two are of the opposite gender ended tragically.

was thinking more in line of "without-the-grail-support-you-can-probably-cout-the-amount-of-magi-with-enough-Prana-to-support-a-servant-on-one-hand" but yeah, generally doesn't end happy either way. But then, in the Nasuverse, Γt seems like the concept of a happy ending is an impossibility...

True, the phone has a certain elegance. And the stick...elegant indeed...heh

classic magi-pride, even Waver was surprised how much more efficent the use of some tech is compared to pure magics
then again I doubt Tokiomi ever informed himself about the current tech

Rin's interactions with Archer were adorable, especially blushing and getting angry because he was putting her down... I wonder if it wasn't all just for fun. I mean he could finally get back at Rin for making his life miserable when he was still human XD

I think Archer was also trying to discourage Rin from fighting out of concern for her safety, not just because he wanted to go after Shirou.

I think it was mostly for Archer's fun, sure if she had complied he could execute his plan, but at some point he had to remember Rin's personality
not that he can always defeat Rin even after becoming a scary future Badass

I can kind of tell Rin has a thing for Archer and yet finds herself strangely attracted to Shirou as well.
