Okay, this has got to be my new obsession. At Disney's Animal Kingdom, there is a new show called Finding Nemo The Musical, and I love it! And like anything I'm obsessed with, I do research on it.The guy who made Avenue Q, Bobby Lopez, wrote the Nemo Musical along with his wife, Kristen. They also starred as Marlin and Dory in the original cast recording. They based the feel of the musical off of their own experiences as parents with their daughter. And so this picture came to mind. I thought, wouldn't it be cool if they (dressed in the musical's costumes) had their daughter, and everyone from the movie (as well as Nemo from the musical) came to visit.
I don't know what their daughter's name is, and in wondering, this little story popped into my head:
The Naming Ceremony
Dory: Hmm, what to name her? I like Nemo.
Nemo: *giggles* We can’t name her that Dory, that’s my name.
Dory: Oh, maybe that’s why I like it so much! *smile* Okay, how about Marlin?
Marlin: *sigh*
Dory: Yeah, you’re right, too fishy.
Nemo: *laughing*
Marlin:*groan* Dory…
Dory: No that won’t work silly, that’s my name.
Nemo: *laughs harder*
Marlin: *puts his fin over his eyes in frustration*
Nemo: Hmm, well, how about Marcie?
Marlin and Dory: What?
Nemo: Marcie! It’s a little Mar-lin, and a little Dor-ie.
Marlin: But where does the ‘c’ come from?
Nemo: …Coral.
Marlin: *shocked at first, but then softly smiles and hugs his son* You’re just too smart sometimes.
Nemo: *smile* I know.
Dory: Hmm, Marcie. Olde English in origin, means ‘sea loving’. I like it!
Marlin: Dory, how do you know that?
Dory: Know what?
Nemo: *starts laughing again*

Sorry to be a downer... but I think Dory is supposed to be a girl in her late teens and Marlin is supposed to be middle aged. Also, they're different kinds of fish. So I think she feels like Marlin is more of a fatherly figure or friend. Awesome art, though.

In the musical, the actor that plays Dory is in her 30s, and the actor that played Marlin is in his 40s.

omg! my sister has this webkinz (she's ten lol) and it looks like a weird mix between a clownfish and regal tang so i call it marlin and dory's child, we even have a name for it.
its name is Marly , and we call it Mar Mar. lolz!
I am obsessed with the musical too btw because i want to be on broadway when im older and i love theater and acting and singing. plus i want to be a music teacher.
I saw it in disney world when i was in 5th grade! the best song is we swim together reprise! XD

I feel bad, though. I think I'm the only Finding Nemo fan who didn't like the musical...'Just Keep Swimming' was funny, but...I just didn't care for the musical.

It's interesting, isn't it, which Disney movies make the best transitition to the stage like Finding Nemo and the Lion King? Okay, so I'm a bit miffed that they didn't do a better job with Mary Poppins and The Little Mermaid. 
This is really a clever and well excuted piece- you should be very proud.
