This was my very first wig, and I didn't really know what I was doing when I made it.  If/when I remake it, I've got a much better idea of how to do it

And I wracked my brain for months trying to figure out how to safely and comfortably give a newborn pink hair.  It turned out so much better than I expected.  It's made of mercerized crochet cotton.   Unfortunately, clothing is currently a sore spot with her.  She asks me to make her costumes, but won't wear them, or drags them around the house and destroys them.  It'll be a while before she gets a new one again (Oh when will people learn that it's not terrible twos or threes-- it's all about the ferocious fours!!)

Hey, as for the first try/experiment I think it turned out quite nice.

What a kid. making her own mother to make costumes and then destroying them. What an attitude .

Hopefully she will quickly get over it .

I agree, that buying this sort of costumes is more healthy for you. Your heart won't be torn into pieces while she destroys them .

I wished I had done that after I got married.  Then I found out about cosplay and made NQS as my first costume.  I got my dream cosplay out of the way first thing.  Of course, when I got pregnant a few weeks later, I was hoping for a girl so I could do this costume.  I had to wait a few more years for that dream to come true.  She's finally old enough to wear real wigs though, so Chibi Moon might be happening some day!

Anyway, NQS details are perfect for a wedding dress!

I think dressing as NQS and ChibiMoon as real mother-daughter is such a perfect idea!  The little hat was just adorable though - perfect for a future Moon fan!

That's gorgeous.  I sometimes wish I had put a train on my dress.  And then I remember that the inch of wing tails that dragged on the flood got destroyed and stepped on repeatedly.  Gorgeous to look at, but NOT fun at a con!

I remade the costume for my third convention since I was pregnant.  I made new wings along with it, and wore those from that point on with both versions.  And I was sure to make them a half inch above the ground

I did it over a 2 month period.  Probably took about 40 hours or so.  I made the wig and hand beaded the hem.
